Manages Microsoft Entra ID together with its different functionalities: Identity Management: Entra ID acts as a central directory for managing user accounts, groups, and other identity-related information. Access Management: It controls who can access what resources, ensuring only authorized individuals can access sensitive data and applications. Authentication: Entra ID handles the process of verifying user identities through various methods, including passwords, MFA, and other secure authentication protocols. Authorization: Once a user is authenticated, Entra ID determines what actions they are permitted to perform based on their assigned roles and permissions. Single Sign-On (SSO): Entra ID allows users to sign in once and access multiple applications and resources without needing to re-enter their credentials. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): It adds an extra layer of security by requiring users to provide multiple forms of verification during sign-in, such as a code from their phone in addition to their password. Application Management: Entra ID enables organizations to register, configure, and manage applications, controlling access to them and integrating them with the identity platform.

Threat Protection: It uses advanced machine learning algorithms and threat intelligence to detect and respond to malicious activities, such as malware, phishing attacks, and other cyber threats. Integration with SIEM: Defender for Cloud integrates with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools like Microsoft Sentinel to provide a centralized view of security alerts and incidents.
