I started my career as a Bank Teller for two (2) years. I was assigned to process cash/check deposits, cash withdrawals, check encashments, accept bills payments, check clearings, and roving/pick-up teller for the armored van. When I became a Certified Public Accountant, I, then, applied for an Internal Audit position in a Multi-Purpose Cooperative. My section was assigned to audit all the transactions of twenty (20) branches. We audited all kinds of forms like deposit slips, withdrawal slips, loan forms, collaterals, and all other documents. We were also given the task to audit the system (a stand-alone system). We were submitting our audit reports to the Board of Directors and present them during their monthly BOD meetings. I was doing the job for five (5) years. I, then, applied to a National Government Agency as a Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper. My Job Title was Accountant II or Junior Accountant but my work was mostly related to bookkeeping and other tasks assigned by the Senior Accountant. I was assigned to process vouchers, update ledgers, compute monthly depreciation of fixed assets, record/input accounting entries in the system, prepare Trial Balance, prepare Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statement, assist five (5) other accounting staff, coordinate with the Head Office's Bookkeeper whenever there are adjustments or discrepancies, and act as an OIC whenever the Senior Accountant is not around. I've handled the position for also five (5) years. I was then promoted to Acting Chief Cashier. My tasks are mostly cash handling, accepting collections, disbursing payments, bank transactions, cash monitoring, and all other cash-related transactions.
