I served as an English teacher for eight years and a Communication Arts Coordinator for four years in an international school. I was involved in various administrative and educational tasks such as teacher training,client communications, and English training for Elementary and Junior High School students.
My main job as an English educator was to enhance the students’ capabilities in all macro skills like listening, speaking, reading, writing, and viewing so that they could meet the demands of the global world they’re soon going to venture into.
On the other hand, my responsibilities as a Communication Arts Coordinator was to help in leading the school to academic excellence by honing the English competencies of the teachers in order to communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders.
Aside from those, I was also the Broadcasting and Journalism Club adviser for six years and managed to join inter-school competitions as a coach. We were able to bag various awards from district to regional divisions in categories such as Science News Writing, Copy Reading, and Radio Script Writing.

After my teaching career, I delved into the freelancing world and became a business English consultant for Japanese businessmen. I assisted in enhancing their English skills by conducting conversations, assisting in making presentations, practicing delivering presentations and handling English meetings.
This new job experience exposed me more to the global business world and the demands it puts on the shoulders of business people from all walks of life. It also made me realize how much I need to improve and be well-oriented about many things such as social and business issues, current events, market trends, customer demands, and customer service which I believe were not just all business skills but also a part of the modern-day life skills.
