As a Credentialing Specialist, I handle the end-to-end process of supporting clinicians in securing both permanent and travel assignments across a wide range of medical facilities, including hospitals, skilled nursing centers, clinics, ambulatory services, veterans’ programs, and pharmacies. I create and enhance resumes from scratch, ensuring that each clinician’s relevant experience and qualifications are highlighted to increase their chances of placement. My role also involves conducting comprehensive reference checks through calls, emails, and texts to verify professional credibility, as well as reviewing submitted documents such as licenses, certifications, and background records to confirm accuracy, compliance, and eligibility. I carefully assess for any criminal history or driving offenses to ensure adherence to agency and facility requirements. In addition, I coordinate performance evaluations by reaching out to client managers to gather structured feedback on clinicians’ job performance, which differs from standard reference checks by focusing on their ongoing effectiveness in the role. I also manage clinician profiles within our system, including updating records or removing those who no longer continue contracts, and oversee updates on platforms such as Nursys. Through these responsibilities, I not only maintain compliance and accuracy but also add value to the clinician’s application, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and professional credentialing process that supports both our staffing agency and the healthcare professionals we represent.
