JOB OVERVIEW

This will be a remote position with a well-established Canadian company. Long-term position. Pay to be issued every 2 weeks.

The successful applicant will be fluent in English and required to Canadian working hours as a part of our team. Much of the work will be conducted over email and Microsft Teams, so a reliable computer and access to high-speed internet is a requirement.

Job Responsibilities:

The Buyer will purchase equipment, materials, supplies and services. As a purchasing agent for the organization, the Buyer will purchase products for customer orders and maintain relationships with our key vendors. The ideal candidate for the buyer position is astute, detail-oriented, and a skilled communicator.

Job Duties:

Purchase equipment and services to meet specialized needs
Make purchase decisions in accordance with company procedures and regulations
Collaborate with department managers to clarify purchase requirements, identify departmental needs, and refine specifications
Investigate and cultivate new sources for supplies and products
Research and prepare bid specifications
Issue bid requests to several potential vendors and suppliers
Review quotes and secures the most competitive bids
Process purchasing transactions according to local, provincial, and federal policies and procedures
Communicate information about product lead times and any anticipated delays.
Solve problems with orders in an efficient and timely manner

Key Competencies:

Willingness to take initiative
Strong computer skills, past ERP experience a plus.
Ability to exercise independent judgment
Strong written and verbal communication
Exemplary interpersonal skills
Skills and Qualifications

C.P.P. or other purchasing certification/designation preferred

Three years buying experience strongly preferred, or ability to demonstrate comparable knowledge and skills
