We are a growing Australian bookkeeping practice seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in a full-time capacity.
Our team currently includes:
- Senior Australian Bookkeeper
- Offshore Administration & Marketing Support
We are now looking for a junior to intermediate Bookkeeper to support ongoing client work and business growth.
This is a long-term employment opportunity, not freelance work. We are seeking someone who wants stability, structure, and long-term career development.
Working Hours & Structure
- Full-time role (8:00am – 5:00pm Australian business hours)
- Daily online tea
- Structured workflow managed through ClickUp
- Fixed assigned tasks with clear responsibilities and ownership
- Must be comfortable working independently and unsupervised while remaining accountable to deadlines
Key Responsibilities
This role includes a mix of bookkeeping and administrative support:
- Accounts Payable processing
- Accounts Receivable support
- Bank reconciliations
- Payroll processing
Proactively following up clients for missing documentation, including:
- Bank statements
- Expense receipts
- Supporting transaction evidence
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client files in Xero
- General administrative support linked to bookkeeping workflows
- Communication with clients regarding missing or unclear information
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in Xero
- Xero Advisor Certification (essential)
- Minimum 2 years bookkeeping experience in an Australian business context
- Accounting qualification (degree or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of core bookkeeping functions (AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations)
- High level of written English for client communication
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow structured workflows and documented processes
Assessment Requirement
Shortlisted candidates must be willing to complete:
- A Xero skills assessment under exam conditions
Work Style & Expectations
This is a proactive, structured role requiring ownership of tasks and outcomes.
You must be:
- Comfortable following established workflows using ClickUp
- Confident communicating with clients in writing when clarification is required
- Proactive in following up missing information without prompting
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Open to contributing suggestions for workflow and process improvements
Training & Support
- Full onboarding and training will be provided on internal systems, clients, and workflows
- Minimal training will be provided for Xero (assumed competency at intermediate level)
- Ongoing support will be provided by the senior bookkeeper
Probation Period
- 6-month probation period applies
- Performance will be assessed on accuracy, reliability, communication, and task completion
