About the Role
The Accounts Assistant (Logistics) supports client billing activities related to logistics and freight services. This role is responsible for preparing and validating billing charges, ensuring invoices are issued accurately and within agreed timelines, and maintaining clear and organized billing records for client accounts.
The role works closely with shipping lines and internal stakeholders to verify shipment documentation, resolve billing queries, and ensure accurate billing information is communicated to clients. This position is ideal for a detail?oriented individual with experience in logistics billing and documentation support.
Key Responsibilities
Create, review, and post client billing invoices for logistics, freight, and shipment-related services
Check accuracy of charges against approved quotations, rate cards, shipment details, and supporting documents
Dispatch billing invoices to clients within agreed deadlines and billing schedules
Monitor issued invoices and support follow-ups for payment when required
Handle client billing disputes and coordinate with Operations and internal teams to resolve issues
Review and verify completeness of billing documents prior to submission or posting
Coordinate with shipping lines and operations teams on shipment and billing-related matters
Request and process invoices or payment requests from shipping lines and service providers
Support reconciliation of billing against shipment records, delivery confirmations, and PODs
Maintain accurate billing records and organized digital documentation
Assist with month-end billing activities, reports, and internal financial checks
Support ad-hoc accounting or billing tasks as required by the Finance team
Qualifications
Strong numerical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Experience in billing, accounts receivable, or logistics accounting
Ability to review and validate billing, freight, and shipment-related charges
Understanding of logistics documentation such as Bills of Lading (BL) and shipment records
Familiarity with freight charges, shipping line invoices, and logistics workflows
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting or billing systems
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet billing deadlines
Professional and client-focused approach when handling billing enquiries
