I love creating Architectural plans of the following. Residential, commercial, institutional, specialized room like auditoriums, and healthcare buildings. Interms of 3d I would recommend AutoCAD. It is very easy to use. I can say it is the foundation of all 2D floor plans to be use in Revit. We can also use it in 3d Modeling either machine parts or in Construction plan. Without it I can say that being a drafter without 2d Drafting skills means a drafter without a frameworks or backbone of technical drawings.

3d modeling makes design more efficient at work, more detailed and precise to make work more productive.
I love Revit. It is a complex software wherein you can learn a lot in terms of BIM management. Very useful tool, fast and reliable in terms of creating 3d models such as the 3 pillars of BIM constructions such as Architectural plan, MEPF plans and Structural plans.
