About the Role
Makarios Marketing is an SEO agency serving local service businesses and a few ecommerce brands across the US. We're hiring a full-time Website Designer who can build beautiful, conversion-focused websites and brand assets for our clients — with SEO baked into every page from the start, not bolted on after.

This isn't just a "make it pretty" design role. You'll be building real pages on mainly WordPress (some Wix and Squarespace) that are designed to rank and convert, plus supporting our own internal Makarios marketing materials. We also need dev experience with adding code and working on SEO site speed, structure ... etc

What You'll Own
Client Website & Page Design

Design and build client website pages on WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace
Structure pages with SEO fundamentals in mind — heading hierarchy, image optimization, page speed, mobile responsiveness, internal linking opportunities
Build brand guidelines for companies without any help
Mock up new website designs for clients or new SEO sites with elementor ideally
Work from client briefs and brand direction to create pages that look professional and convert visitors into leads

Brand Guidelines & Identity

Create brand guideline documents for new clients as they onboard with us — color palettes, typography, logo usage, voice and tone direction
Ensure consistency across every page and asset we build for a client

Internal Makarios Design

Support internal marketing design — social graphics, ad creative, presentation decks, sales materials
Help keep the Makarios brand sharp across every touchpoint

Bonus Skills

Shopify store design and theme customization
Logo design for clients who need one built from scratch
Using Claude's design AI features as part of your workflow to speed up design production

What We Need From You

Years of real design experience — not a beginner, not "I took a course." We need someone who has actually shipped client work.
A portfolio you can show us — this is required with your application, not optional. No portfolio, no consideration.
Strong working knowledge of WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace page-building
An understanding of on-page SEO — you don't need to be a technical SEO expert, but you need to know why heading structure, alt text, and page speed matter
Comfortable creating brand guidelines from scratch for new clients
Bonus: Shopify design experience
Bonus: experience designing logos
Bonus: familiarity with Claude's AI design tools
Strong English communication, written and verbal

Schedule & Pay

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time
Base Pay: $800-1,000/month based on experience
