Web Developer / Shopify Designer

We are looking for an experienced Web Developer / Designer to help improve, optimise and continue building a growing kids fashion eCommerce website.

We are looking for someone who understands Shopify, online retail, customer experience and conversion-focused website design. This role would suit someone who is confident with both design and coding, and who can bring fresh ideas to help us keep improving the website as the business grows.

About the role

We are looking for someone to work with us on improving the overall look, feel and functionality of our Shopify website. This includes enhancing the customer journey, improving product pages, making the mobile experience stronger, updating design elements and helping us create a more premium and easy-to-shop online store.

The right person needs to be confident working within Shopify and must have strong coding knowledge. We do not just want someone who can make basic changes — we are looking for someone who can problem-solve, suggest better ways of doing things and help us continue to improve the site over time.

Key responsibilities

Improve and enhance our Shopify website design and layout
Help create a better customer shopping experience across desktop and mobile
Update and improve product pages, collection pages, homepage sections and banners
Assist with custom coding and theme adjustments where needed
Improve website speed, usability and conversion opportunities
Suggest new ideas and features to improve the online store
Help troubleshoot website issues and bugs
Work with us on ongoing website updates, launches and improvements
Ensure the website feels premium, clean, easy to use and aligned with a kids fashion retail brand

What we are looking for

Strong Shopify experience is essential
Strong coding skills, including Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Experience working with online retail or eCommerce brands
A good eye for design, layout and customer flow
Understanding of mobile-first design and conversion optimisation
Ability to suggest ideas, not just complete tasks
Experience improving website speed and performance
Strong attention to detail
Reliable, responsive and able to work independently
Someone who understands fashion, kidswear or lifestyle websites would be highly regarded
