Job Title: Video Editor (Short & Long Form) – Health/Science Content Creator | Full-Time
About the Role
Dr. Karan is a surgeon and science communicator with a large social media following, YouTube channel, and podcast focused on gut health and medicine. We're looking for a fast, versatile video editor to handle both short-form (Reels/TikTok/Shorts) and long-form YouTube content.

Responsibilities

Edit green-screen style short-form videos in "Dr Karan style" ( ---------- ) punchy hooks, on-screen text, motion graphics, sound design, and pattern interrupts to maximize retention.

Edit long-form YouTube videos across multiple formats: Vox-style explainers, deep dives, and video essays
Apply strong retention editing techniques (pacing, re-hooks, visual variety) to keep watch time high
Build supporting graphics, lower thirds, and animated elements using Canva and other tools
Take raw footage/scripts and turn them into polished, story-driven final cuts
Adapt quickly across editing styles depending on the platform and content goal
Turn around work fast without sacrificing quality, and take feedback well

Requirements

Proven experience editing both short-form and long-form video content (portfolio/reel required)
Strong grasp of retention editing and Vox-style/documentary editing techniques
Skilled in motion graphics, animation, and visual storytelling
Proficient in Canva
Proficient in Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar (please specify your tools)
Fast learner, fast worker, sharp eye for design
Strong understanding of short-form platform trends (TikTok, Reels, Shorts)
Excellent English communication
