Role Summary
The Real Estate Development Associate supports the development team across the full project lifecycle, from acquisition due diligence through entitlements, permitting, and project management. This role combines financial underwriting, project-management support, consultant coordination, and technical research to help deliver projects on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing and evaluating development opportunities: market research, site assessments, and initial feasibility.
- Working with the internal investment team to build and maintain financial models and underwriting for acquisitions and pro formas; prepare sensitivity analyses and scenario testing.
- Manage and track due diligence items (entitlements, title, environmental, utility, geotech, surveys); coordinate consultants and vendors.
- Prepare materials for internal approval and external partners: offering memoranda, presentation decks, and loan/package summaries.
- Support entitlement and permitting processes; interface with city planners, permitting agencies, and community stakeholders as directed.
- Monitor project budgets and schedules; assist in change-order review, cost tracking, and reporting on project status.
- Assist with financing activities: collect lender/investor deliverables, prepare closing checklists, and coordinate with legal and accounting teams.
- Maintain document libraries, project trackers, and issue logs; help streamline project workflows and standard templates.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil, urban design/ planning and real estate
- 2-3 years of experience in a development or design-related field (licensed architect preferred).
- Strong understanding of architectural and urban design principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fast learner with a strong desire to learn and contribute
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills & Tools
- Familiarity with entitlement/permitting processes and municipal planning practice.
- Experience communicating with consultants and city staff.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail; ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
