MOBILE IOS SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Orani is an AI-powered virtual receptionist built for solo and micro service
businesses — cleaners, contractors, realtors, detailers — who lose revenue
every time a call goes unanswered. Orani gives every independent operator a
dedicated business number backed by an AI that answers calls, captures caller
intent, and delivers structured summaries and follow-up actions directly to
the owner's phone.

We're a small, fast-moving team building a product that genuinely helps people
run their businesses better.


The Role

You'll be working across the full product — mobile UI, backend API, and
telephony logic. Most of what you'll touch is already built; your job is to
fix bugs, ship new features, and raise the overall quality bar. You should be
comfortable jumping between a Flutter screen and a Django webhook in the same
afternoon.

What You'll Work On

- Building and refining screens in Flutter across iOS and Android
- Maintaining and extending the Django backend — API endpoints, business
logic, database models
- Working with Twilio webhooks and TwiML to control call routing behavior
- Integrating with VAPI for AI voice assistant configuration and call handling
- Fixing real user-reported issues — onboarding flows, form validation,
settings UX
- Keeping the EC2 deployment stable and shipping updates without breaking
production


You're a Strong Fit If You

- Have shipped a Flutter app before — you know Dart, widget trees, and state
management doesn't intimidate you
- Have built or maintained a Django backend — models, views, REST APIs, ORM
queries
- Have worked with at least one telephony or communication API (Twilio,
Vonage, Bandwidth)
- Are comfortable reading and writing TwiML or similar call flow markup
- Can SSH into an EC2 instance, debug a running service, and deploy a fix
without hand-holding
- Move fast, write clean code, and communicate clearly about what's done and
what's blocked

- Experience with VAPI or other AI voice platforms
- Familiarity with prompt engineering or LLM integrations
- Prior work on a consumer mobile app with real users

What We're Not Looking For

Someone who needs a fully specc'd ticket for every task. This codebase is
real, the bugs are real, and the users are real. You should be able to look at
a problem, understand the system, and figure out the fix.
