We are seeking a skilled and certified Medical Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and disease pathology, along with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with internal staff, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Review, analyze, and accurately assign medical codes to patient records.

Ensure compliance with AHIMA Code of Ethics and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve coding-related issues.

Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of patient health information.

Successfully complete a VC/NextStep administered coder assessment before moving forward in the hiring process.

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and disease pathology.

Ability to communicate effectively across teams.

Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

Commitment to high ethical standards in line with the AHIMA Code of Ethics.

Required Certifications (any one or more):

RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P

CIC, COC, CRC, or CPC

Preferred Skills:

Experience with EHR systems.

Familiarity with compliance requirements (HIPAA, CMS, etc.).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
