Full-Time Construction Bookkeeper

I am hiring a full-time remote Bookkeeper

This is a hands-on bookkeeping role with full responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, payroll processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

I am looking for someone who can independently manage multiple accounting functions using both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

* Process vendor invoices and payments
* Match invoices with purchase orders
* Maintain accurate AP records
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies
* Manage AP workflows independently

Accounts Receivable

* Create and issue customer invoices
* Manage the complete billing cycle
* Track outstanding customer balances
* Follow up on past-due accounts
* Maintain accurate billing records
* Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger

Payroll Processing

* Process payroll through QuickBooks
* Maintain employee hours, rates, and deductions
* Reconcile payroll-related accounts
* Prepare payroll documentation and summaries
* Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time

Bookkeeping and Reconciliations

* Complete daily transaction entry
* Work across QuickBooks Desktop and Online
* Reconcile bank and accounting accounts
* Prepare journal entries when needed
* Identify and report discrepancies
* Assist with month-end closing activities
* Maintain accurate records for multiple entities

Financial Reporting

* Prepare AP and AR aging reports
* Produce billing status reports
* Prepare payroll reconciliation reports
* Support month-end reporting packages
* Provide financial documents when requested

Required Qualifications

* Professional bookkeeping experience
* Strong QuickBooks Desktop experience
* Strong QuickBooks Online experience
* Ability to use both platforms daily
* Full accounts payable experience
* Full accounts receivable ownership
* Experience creating and issuing invoices
* Active payroll processing experience in QuickBooks
* Bank and account reconciliation experience
* Strong written and spoken English
* Available during U.S. Eastern business hours
* Reliable internet and dedicated workspace

Preferred Qualifications

* Construction bookkeeping experience
* Experience with trade or home service businesses
* Experience supporting multiple business entities
* Familiarity with purchase order matching
* Experience using Foundation accounting software
* Experience using Field Materials
* Familiarity with Sage or similar accounting platforms
* Previous experience supporting U.S.-based companies

Important Requirements

Applicants must have active experience using both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.

This is not an entry-level data entry or bookkeeping support position. The selected candidate must be able to independently manage:

* Accounts payable
* Accounts receivable
* Invoice creation and billing
* Payroll processing
* Account reconciliations
* Financial reporting

Candidates with only invoice tracking, payroll support, or basic data entry experience may not be considered.
