JOB OVERVIEW

BACKEND-FIRST WORDPRESS DEVELOPER REQUIRED — PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING

This is not a basic Elementor design role.

We are looking for a highly skilled WordPress developer with strong backend development, troubleshooting, custom PHP, webhook integration, email configuration, and custom integration experience.

Backend experience is the most critical need for this role. However, you must also have strong front-end skills and be able to accurately build modern, responsive, high-end websites from provided mockups and design direction.

If you mostly depend on plugins, templates, WP Forms, Contact Form 7, or drag-and-drop tools to build functionality, this is not the right role for you.

You must be able to work with custom PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, WPCode Snippets, custom forms, webhooks, WP SMTP, email configuration, Stripe, Mailchimp, WooCommerce, booking plugins, responsive layouts, custom CSS, and backend WordPress troubleshooting.

A critical part of this role will involve building, connecting, and troubleshooting webhooks, form submissions, automated email workflows, SMTP issues, payment notifications, booking notifications, and other backend communication between WordPress and third-party tools.

You must also be able to take provided mockups and build clean, polished, mobile-responsive pages with strong attention to layout, spacing, typography, responsiveness, and visual accuracy.

We need someone who can fix technical problems, resolve plugin conflicts, troubleshoot broken functionality, test integrations, and make the website work properly without needing constant step-by-step instructions.

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY if you cannot confidently handle backend WordPress development, PHP troubleshooting, webhooks, email configuration, custom integrations, and clean front-end execution.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a backend-first WordPress developer who can also execute high-quality front-end website builds.

Our websites include custom integrations and custom applications using PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, WordPress functionality, webhooks, third-party tools, custom forms, email systems, booking systems, payment integrations, WooCommerce, responsive layouts, and performance optimization.

This role is not for someone who only builds pages in Elementor or installs templates. We need someone who can build, customize, troubleshoot, and support modern WordPress websites that require backend thinking, custom code, webhook logic, email configuration, front-end accuracy, and real issue resolution.

We build our websites using WordPress, Elementor Pro, WPCode Snippets, custom PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, webhooks, and custom integrations. We do not use templates.

We will provide mockups and design direction. You must be able to execute those mockups accurately on the front end while also making sure the backend functionality works properly.

Please review these websites before applying:

If you cannot support, troubleshoot, and build websites at this level, please do not apply.

CRITICAL REQUIREMENT

The most important requirement for this role is backend WordPress experience.

Again, this is not just an Elementor design role. This is a backend-focused WordPress role for someone who can troubleshoot, code, integrate, configure, and resolve technical problems independently.

PHP, webhooks, custom integrations, and email configuration are critical needs for this role.

You must be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:

Custom PHP functionality
Webhook setup and troubleshooting
Webhook-based form submissions
Webhook notifications and automation
AJAX and JavaScript functionality
Custom form submissions
WP SMTP and email delivery

Email
configuration and deliverability issues
Automated email notifications
Booking confirmation emails
Payment notification emails
Stripe webhook/payment notifications
Mailchimp integration and automation
WooCommerce setup and troubleshooting
WooCommerce email issues
Booking plugin setup and troubleshooting
Plugin conflicts
Broken site functionality
WordPress performance issues
Mobile and browser-specific issues
Backend errors
Database or configuration-related issues
Custom WordPress workflows
Custom integrations that require code beyond basic plugin setup

We are especially looking for someone who can create and troubleshoot custom forms using PHP, AJAX, JavaScript, webhooks, and proper email configuration.

We are not looking for someone who only knows WP Forms, Contact Form 7, or basic drag-and-drop form plugins.

Plugins may be part of the workflow, but you must know how to troubleshoot them, customize them, connect them properly, configure email delivery, and fix issues when they do not work as expected.

FRONT-END REQUIREMENT

Backend experience is the priority, but strong front-end development is also required.

You must be able to take provided mockups, references, or design direction and build the website accurately in WordPress.

You should have a strong eye for:

Typography
Responsiveness
Mobile presentation
Visual hierarchy
Clean front-end execution
