S16 (sx16.ai) is a product company building AI operations-intelligence tools for last-mile delivery and logistics operators. We turn live operational data into real-time intelligence — AI assistants, automated monitoring and alerting, performance analytics, and predictive models — that help delivery operations run reliably at scale. We are a small, fast-moving team shipping production software that is used in live operations every day.

The role
We are looking for an AI/ML Engineer who can build LLM-powered agents and automation end to end, with solid data science / ML chops alongside it. You will design and ship AI assistants that plug into messaging platforms and operational tools, build the data pipelines and dashboards behind them, and develop the predictive models that make the product smarter over time.
This is a hands-on, full-spectrum AI role: from prompt and agent design, to the Python services that run them, to the models and data underneath.

What you'll do
? Build LLM-powered agents and assistants. Design system prompts and agent behavior, integrate LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, OpenAI), and handle context management, conversation memory/summarization, tool use, and reliability/guardrails.
? Ship automation and real-time monitoring. Build Python services (Flask/FastAPI) that ingest live operational data, detect exceptions, run scheduled jobs, and push alerts and notifications — including messaging integrations such as WhatsApp.
? Develop predictive and analytical models (DS/ML). For example, late-delivery prediction and route-difficulty / performance scoring: feature engineering, training, evaluation, and deployment.
? Build dashboards and scoreboards. Real-time performance views and leaderboards (Google Sheets API, Streamlit, or lightweight web apps).
? Deploy and operate. Stand up services on cloud platforms, manage secrets and API keys securely, and keep things running reliably.
? Apply computer vision where it adds value — for example, image recognition for load-out / bag-count verification using real-time object detection.
What we're looking for
? 2+ years of professional experience in AI/ML engineering, data science, or a closely related software role.
? Strong programming in Python and SQL.
? Hands-on Generative AI / LLM experience and a solid data-science / machine-learning foundation (full stack detailed below).
? Startup mindset — comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and end-to-end ownership. You ship.
? Immediate availability — we need someone who can start right away.
Technical skills
? Languages & databases: Python, SQL, vector databases.
? Machine learning: Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy; regression, classification, clustering; feature engineering and model evaluation; hyperparameter tuning (GridSearchCV); time-series forecasting; A/B testing; statistical analysis, data preprocessing, and exploratory data analysis (EDA).
? Deep learning: TensorFlow, Keras; ANN, CNN, RNN.
? Computer vision: OpenCV, YOLOv8, real-time object detection.
? Generative AI / LLMs: large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, AI chatbots, agentic AI, LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers, and end-to-end LLM application development.
? Backend & deployment: REST APIs, webhooks, Flask / FastAPI; model deployment; cloud platforms (GCP / AWS / Azure, or Railway / Render / DigitalOcean).
? Data pipelines & analytics: ETL / data pipelines; SQL; medallion (bronze/silver/gold) modeling; Databricks / Spark.
? Visualization & tools: Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Streamlit; Git / GitHub, Jupyter Notebook, VS Code.
Nice to have
? Experience with logistics, last-mile delivery, or other real-time operational data.
? Microsoft 365 / Azure ecosystem familiarity.
