JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring a skilled, reliable YouTube editor to own the full production and publishing process for the channel — and grow into a content strategist who helps shape what we make.

This is a long-term role with a steady, full-time workload. You'll start as our editor and channel manager. As you prove yourself, there's a clear, paid path to becoming our strategist.

WHAT YOU'LL DO — Editor & Channel Manager ($1,500/month USD)

Editing:

- Edit long-form videos (10-15 min): talking-head + screen-share, educational style (we'll share examples of the look we want)
- Edit short-form videos (Shorts) and ad creatives — many of these are cut down from the long-form footage
- Apply retention-focused editing: tight pacing, captions/subtitles, b-roll, zooms, pattern interrupts, and clean audio

Thumbnails:

Design click-worthy thumbnails that match our established style (examples provided)

Channel management:

- Write SEO-optimized titles, descriptions, and tags
- Add end screens and cards
- Schedule and publish videos

MONTHLY VOLUME

At peak, expect up to:

- 8 long-form videos (10-15 min)
- 30 short-form videos
- 20-30 ad creatives

Many of the Shorts and ads are repurposed from the long-form videos, so this is more manageable than the numbers suggest — but you should be fast, organized, and comfortable running a real content pipeline.

THE GROWTH PATH — Content Strategist (up to $2,000/month USD)

Once you've mastered the editing and channel role and shown you understand what makes our content work, you can grow into a strategist. In that role, you'll:

- Pitch video ideas and angles
- Research topics and write scripts for us to shoot

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Proven YouTube editing experience (please show both long-form and short-form work)
- Strong thumbnail design skills with an eye for what earns clicks
- Familiarity with YouTube publishing — SEO titles/descriptions, end screens, cards, scheduling
- Excellent written and spoken English (you'll join occasional meetings and eventually write scripts)
- Self-managed, deadline-driven, and communicative — someone who doesn't need to be micromanaged
- Bonus: experience with business, educational, or talking-head content; scriptwriting or content ideation

Use whatever editing and design tools you prefer. We care about the output, not the software.

HOURS & SETUP

This is a remote, mostly asynchronous role. We don't track your hours — we care that the work gets done well and on time. The only fixed requirement is being available for the occasional meeting during US Eastern (EST) morning hours.

HOW TO APPLY

We hire in three stages. Please read carefully — applications that don't follow these instructions will not be considered.

Stage 1 — Application
Reply to this job with all of the following:

- Start your message with the word UPVOTE, so we know you read this post.
- A link to your portfolio (YouTube editing work — ideally both long-form and short-form).
- A short Loom video (2-3 minutes): open our channel ---------- pick one video, and tell us 2-3 specific things you'd change about the edit and/or thumbnail to make it better. We want to see how you think.

Stage 2 — Paid Test Edit (invited candidates only)
We'll pay you $20 to complete a short test: find a Shorts-worthy ---------- nt in one of our YouTube videos, edit it into a polished 30-60 second Short, and submit it. We pay for this because we respect your time.

Stage 3 — Interview
A short video interview to make sure we're the right fit for each other.

We're looking for someone to grow with us for the long haul. If that's you, we'd love to see your work.
