JOB OVERVIEW

We are hiring a reliable YouTube Shorts Production Assistant to create clean, professional short-form videos for FirstEditing, a professional editing company serving authors, writers, academics, and publishers.

This is not a flashy influencer-style role.

We need someone who can create simple, clear, professional Shorts using approved scripts, brand instructions, and SOPs.

You may use AI tools to work efficiently, including AI voice, captions, stock video, editing tools, and layout support. However, the final result must look and sound professional.

Main Responsibilities:
• Create YouTube Shorts from approved scripts
• Use professional AI-assisted tools when helpful
• Add clear captions and readable on-screen text
• Use clean, relevant visuals related to writing, editing, books, manuscripts, authors, and publishing
• Add FirstEditing logo watermark
• Add final CTA screen
• Follow brand colors and visual standards
• Revise videos based on feedback
• Upload completed files to FirstEditing Google Drive
• Assist with YouTube upload and scheduling after videos are approved
• Use approved titles, descriptions, hashtags, and links
• Update the YouTube Shorts tracking spreadsheet
• Submit a brief weekly report with completed work and status

Future Work May Include:
• Creating Shorts from existing YouTube videos
• Repurposing blog content into Shorts
• Creating social media captions from completed Shorts
• Helping organize the Shorts content library

Required Skills:
• Short-form video editing
• CapCut, Canva, Premiere, or similar tools
• Ability to use AI tools efficiently
• Strong attention to detail
• Good English reading comprehension
• Ability to follow written instructions exactly
• Basic YouTube Shorts understanding
• Google Drive organization
• Reliable communication
• Willingness to work inside FirstEditing systems and follow SOPs

Audio Requirements:
Voiceover must sound:
• clear
• natural
• professional
• not robotic
• not hollow

• not rushed

The narration should sound like normal conversational speaking speed.

Important:
We care more about accuracy, clarity, consistency, and following instructions than creative effects.

This role is best for someone who can produce consistent videos every week using a repeatable process.

Initial Workload:
• 3 Shorts per week
• Each Short is approximately 20–40 seconds
• Scripts will be provided
• Brand guidelines will be provided
• Visual SOP will be provided
• Upload instructions will be provided

Test Task:
Qualified applicants will receive one paid test Short.

The test will evaluate:
• ability to follow the approved script
• visual quality
• text readability
• audio quality
• pacing
• brand consistency
• CTA execution
• attention to detail
• ability to follow upload/tracking instructions if selected for the next step

5. Whether you have experience uploading or scheduling YouTube Shorts

6. Confirmation that you can produce 3 Shorts per week

7. Confirmation that you can work inside Google Drive and update a tracking sheet

8. Confirm that you understand the paid test rate is $5 for one approved test Short and that the ongoing weekly package is expected to be $20–$25 per week after a successful test

Compensation

Paid test: $5 for one approved test Short

Ongoing work after a successful test: $100 per month for 3 approved Shorts per week, including reasonable revisions, Google Drive filing, YouTube upload and scheduling, tracker updates, and a brief weekly report
