Web Developer ADA Compliance

We are looking for a web developer who will take a highly visited, Wordpress-based website that is currently using Accessibe (Upgrade to see actual info) to obtain ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliance and take the necessary steps to keep ADA compliance but without using Accessibe. Basically, we are looking to replace the mostly automated Accessibe platform in our high traffic Wordpress website, i.e., a free or very low cost Wordpress plug-in, CSS, HTML, etc. as required to remain ADA compliant.

Under the supervision of a senior developer who has done research in this area, you will be responsible for reviewing various options, and then making all necessary changes to the website in a test environment to obtain a similar level of ADA compliance as can be achieved through Accessibe or other similar options. We will be using a free ADA accessibility scanner to check for status and completion throughout the project.

Based on the results and our business needs, there may be other high-volume websites where we would want ADA compliance, so there is an opportunity for additional work after the initial website has been converted.

Your Skills
- Experience working with Wordpress; CSS; and HTML
- Proficiency working with responsive web design
- Fluency in English
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality in a timely fashion

Home-Based Setup
- Have your own computer and fast Internet connection
- Have a dedicated location that is free of distractions

Schedule
- Flexible schedule for this position. Some ability to overlap with US-based hours would be required from time to time. This is a project-based contract position. I.e., we are hiring for the completion of a specific project. There may be other similar projects where we may need your services once you have completed the first one.
