JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role:
We’re looking for a visual-first Video Editor who can turn ideas into clear, compelling, authority-building short-form content.

This is not about flashy edits — it’s about communicating ideas visually. You’ll use typography, pacing, and structure to simplify complex concepts, highlight key insights, and keep viewers engaged from start to finish.

If you think in visual hierarchy, text rhythm, and clarity, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities
• Review and cull raw footage, identifying the most insightful ---------- nts
• Edit short-form videos (Reels, TikTok, Shorts) focused on education and authority
• Structure content for clarity and retention (hook ? insight ? reinforcement ? takeaway)
• Use typography as a primary storytelling tool — headlines, emphasis, pacing, and flow
• Design edits with strong visual hierarchy and readability
• Apply AI tools (e.g. Google Gemini, Google Flow) for enhancement and efficiency
• Refine pacing to ensure ideas land clearly and keep attention
• Enhance videos with intentional motion design, clean transitions, and minimal but effective effects
• Deliver content that is clear, sharp, and high-performing

Output & Turnaround Expectations
• Produce approximately 40 short-form videos per month (10 reels per week)
• Typical turnaround: 1–2 days per video
• Maintain clarity and consistency at speed
• Stay responsive, communicative, and efficient with revisions

What We’re Looking For
• 2–5 years editing short-form educational or talking-head content
• Strong instinct for clarity, structure, and audience retention
• Excellent use of typography for emphasis, pacing, and storytelling
• Ability to simplify ideas through visual hierarchy and editing choices
• Solid fundamentals in color, sound, and clean editing
• Proficiency in CapCut, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar
• Strong communication in spoken and written English
• Reliable, independent, and fast-moving
• A thinking editor — someone who shapes the message, not just assembles clips

This Role May Not Be the Best Fit If…
• You rely heavily on templates without shaping the message
• You treat text as basic captions instead of a storytelling layer
• You prefer aesthetic edits over clear communication
• You need step-by-step direction for every edit
• Fast turnaround and feedback cycles feel overwhelming
