Virtual Sales Representative — Carzi (Car Rental)

Location: Remote (supporting Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport operation)
Type: Part-time or Full-time
Hours of operation: Sunday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM (Arizona time)
Schedule: Shifts assigned weekly — flexibility required

About This Role

This is a sales job first and foremost. If you live for the close, get a rush from hitting targets, and treat every customer inquiry as a chance to sell — keep reading. If you’re looking for a passive customer-service seat where you answer questions and wait for your shift to end, this isn’t it.

Carzi is an independent car rental company at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport with a fleet of ~100 vehicles and a contactless rental model. Our customers book online and handle everything by text and phone — they never stand at a counter. That means you are the salesperson and the storefront. Every text is a selling opportunity. Every call is a chance to upsell. The reps who win here are the ones who treat this like commissioned sales, not a help desk.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing (Selling)

• Close rentals. Turn inquiries, quotes, and “just checking prices” texts into booked, paid reservations. You own the conversion.
• Upsell on every booking. Vehicle upgrades, damage protection, prepaid fuel, add-ons — you’ll have penetration targets on each, and we’ll track them. Top performers move the numbers; we notice.
• Win back the fence-sitters. Follow up on abandoned bookings and lukewarm leads and bring them across the line.
• Sell over text and voice. Build rapport, create urgency, handle objections, and close — all without ever meeting the customer face to face. This is a craft, and we want people who are good at it.
• Process payments, deposits, and payment requests accurately
• Run risk-based checks on reservations — review customer and payment details, flag high-risk bookings, and apply verification policies to protect against fraud and chargebacks
• Keep reservation records clean and well-documented

What We’re Looking For

• A real sales background. Inside sales, retail sales, call-center sales, car rental upselling, or any role where you carried a quota and hit it. Tell us your numbers.
• A genuine desire to sell. You see “no” as “not yet” and you actually enjoy turning a maybe into a yes.
• Proven closer over text and phone — you can build rapport and close without face-to-face contact.
• Comfortable juggling multiple software systems at once (rental management, SMS, payment tools — TSD or similar a plus) without dropping the sale
• Strong judgment for risk — you can spot a sketchy booking and know when to verify, escalate, or decline
• Excellent, fast, persuasive written communication — most of your selling happens over text
• Self-managed and reliable in a remote environment
• Available within operating hours (Sun–Fri, 6 AM–10 PM AZ time) with flexibility on weekly shift assignments

Big Pluses

• Documented sales performance — upsell/ancillary penetration rates, conversion rates, quota attainment, leaderboard finishes
• Car rental experience (virtual or counter — reservations, sales, or operations)
• Experience with contactless or remote rental operations

Compensation

• Part-time and full-time positions available
• Shifts within Sunday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM Arizona time, set weekly
