Virtual CFO (Part-Time Trial, Potential Full-Time Role)

Location: Remote (Adelaide Time Zone)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1:00–2:00 PM break)

About Us

We are an Australian group of businesses in the entertainment and technology space. We are growing, expanding into new locations, and building out a B2B technology arm. We need a Virtual CFO who can take full ownership of our financial operations so leadership can focus on growing the business.

What This Role Is

This is not a bookkeeping role. This is a senior, hands on position where you will own everything financial across multiple entities. You will be trusted with full visibility and decision making authority over budgets, forecasting, and reporting. The goal is simple: leadership should never have to think about money management because you are already on top of it.

What You Will Own

• Full management and oversight of all financial accounts across multiple entities
• Building and maintaining monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets
• Setting clear spending allocations and revenue targets each month
• Cash flow forecasting and runway management
• Expense categorisation, review, and optimisation. Identifying waste, flagging anomalies, renegotiating contracts where needed
• Monthly financial reporting in a clear, executive ready format covering P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, and key KPIs
• Tax planning coordination with our Australian accountant
• Financial modelling for new initiatives, expansion plans, and capital expenditure
• Vendor payment management and reconciliation
• Working with our existing finance dashboard and reporting systems

What Success Looks Like

After 90 days, leadership should be able to ask you any financial question and get an accurate answer within a few hours. Leadership should not need to log into accounts or chase invoices. There should be complete clarity on spending capacity at any given ---------- nt because you have already mapped it out.

Who You Are

• 5+ years experience as a CFO, Finance Manager, or senior financial controller
• Experience with SME or multi-entity finance
• CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification preferred
• Experience with Australian accounting standards and tax preferred, or willingness to learn quickly
• Comfortable with hospitality, retail, or entertainment industry finance
• Highly proficient with Xero, QuickBooks, or similar accounting platforms
• Excellent written and verbal English communication
• Self-directed, proactive, able to work with minimal supervision
• Trustworthy and discreet with sensitive financial information

Working Arrangement

• Full time, remote from the Philippines
• Reporting directly to the CEO
• Weekly check ins and monthly financial review meetings
• Long term role with growth potential as the business expands
