ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring a skilled Video Editor as the long-term editing partner for a YouTube channel in the entrepreneurship and e-commerce space (Amazon FBA, private-label sellers, building an online software product).
YouTube is the primary focus. We are publishing 2 long-form videos per week (10-14 minutes each) plus daily short-form clips (Reels, Shorts, TikToks) repurposed from the long-form content. This is consistent, ongoing work - we are building a serious educational brand and the editor we hire will be the one we build with for the long haul.
There is also some catch-up work on an existing online course hosted on Skool - clean-up edits on already-recorded lessons. That work runs in parallel for the first few weeks but it is not the main role. YouTube is where most of your hours will go.
We need a professional editor who understands pacing, clarity, and clean educational content - not flashy gaming-style edits.
WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON
Primary work (ongoing - about 80% of hours):
- 2 long-form YouTube videos per week, each 10-14 minutes
- 5 to 8 short-form clips repurposed from each long-form (Reels, Shorts, TikToks)
- Talking-head footage plus screen recordings of our software dashboards
- Light motion graphics, lower thirds, intro lower-third, end card with channel CTA
- Captions (open captions for shorts, optional for long-form)
- Light B-roll - used sparingly and purposefully
- Light color correction and audio cleanup
Secondary work (first few weeks, then tapers):
- Editing structured online course videos for our existing Skool course
- Cleaning up long-form recordings, removing filler, exporting clean
Possible later additions (optional, more pay):
- Thumbnail design or coordination
- Ad creative edits from existing YouTube footage
EDITING STYLE REFERENCE
Think clean, educational, and professional - closer to creators like Ali Abdaal, Codie Sanchez, or other long-form business/educational YouTubers. NOT MrBeast-style hyper-cuts, NOT gaming-style edits, NOT
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
You must have experience editing with professional software, such as:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- DaVinci Resolve
- Final Cut Pro
- CapCut (Pro level - for short-form)
You must:
- Have edited long-form YouTube content for business or educational creators before
- Understand pacing for educational content
- Know how to repurpose long-form into short-form (vertical crops, hooks in first 1.5s)
- Be comfortable with lower thirds, transitions, clean cuts
- Be comfortable with basic color correction and audio cleanup
- Be able to follow revision feedback carefully - we send Loom video feedback, not long text
THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF
- You only edit gaming,
- You rely only on templates
- You cannot handle revisions professionally
- You disappear or communicate inconsistently
- You are juggling many freelance clients
We are looking for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and professional. This is a long-term hire, not a one-off project.

- Must respond to messages within 24 hours
- Must hit a 48-hour turnaround from footage delivery to first long-form cut

PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS (VERY IMPORTANT)
You must provide:
- A portfolio link

- Short-form (Reels / Shorts / TikTok) examples are a strong bonus
- Online course or training content examples are also a bonus
Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
WORK SCHEDULE
