Client Overview

For this role, the successful candidate will be assigned to a creative Australian visual production company based in Darwin, Northern Territory. The company is a small but highly creative team of under 10 staff, producing impactful visual content across multiple platforms and formats.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Offline Editor (Video Editor) to join the production team and take ownership of assembling raw footage into compelling, story-driven video content.

This role focuses on shaping narrative, emotion, and pacing through expert editing—transforming raw footage into structured, engaging visual stories from rough cut through to final locked edit.

The ideal candidate thrives in storytelling, enjoys working with creative teams, and has a strong eye for timing, rhythm, and narrative clarity.

Key Responsibilities

> Assemble raw footage into structured story narratives
> Select and refine the best takes to build cohesive sequences
> Develop pacing, rhythm, and emotional flow of video content
> Edit interviews, dialogue-based content, and music-driven visuals
> Progress edits through rough cut, fine cut, and locked cut stages
> Ensure clarity of story, message, and emotional impact
> Collaborate with producers and creatives to refine edits based on feedback
> Interpret creative direction and apply feedback through shared review systems
> Support internal team communication through draft sharing and revisions

Tools & Software

> Adobe Premiere Pro (primary editing tool)
> Adobe After Effects (supporting motion/graphics integration where needed)
> Other Adobe Creative Cloud tools as required

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring both technical editing ability and strong storytelling instincts. You will thrive in this role if you:

> Have strong experience in video editing and narrative construction
> Enjoy working with raw footage and shaping it into meaningful stories
> Are confident editing interviews, commercial content, and digital media
> Have a strong sense of timing, pacing, and emotional delivery
> Are detail-oriented and able to work independently on assigned edits
> Communicate well and collaborate effectively with creative teams
> Are open to feedback and able to refine edits efficiently

A portfolio demonstrating editing work is required and will be a key part of the selection process.

Working Hours

> Monday to Friday
> 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Philippine Standard Time (PHT)
> Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break (preferably around 11:00 AM PHT)
> Aligned with client working hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ACST (UTC+9:30)
> Lunch alignment: approximately 12:30 PM ACST (UTC+9:30)

Compensation Structure

> Billable Rate: PhP 350/hour
(applies when working directly on client tasks and deliverables)
> Non-Billable Rate: ?200/hour
(applies to BESAS internal time such as admin updates, HR catch-ups, company activities, and internal coordination)
