YouTube Video Editor — Police Bodycam
We produce long-form YouTube videos built around police bodycam, dashcam, and surveillance footage. We're looking for an editor who can turn raw, often low-quality footage into tight, retention-driven videos that hook viewers in the first 30 seconds and hold them to the end.
What you'll do
Edit 15–40 minute videos from raw bodycam/dashcam footage, syncing multiple camera angles and trimming dead air without losing narrative tension
Pace edits for retention — strong cold-open hooks, clean cuts, no slow spots
Add on-screen captions/subtitles throughout (a core part of this format)
Blur faces, license plates, and redact sensitive details (names, addresses, minors) as required
Color-correct and clean up poor-quality source footage
Build supporting visuals: context cards, lower thirds, location maps, document/mugshot overlays
Layer in music and sound design that builds tension without overpowering audio
Hit consistent deadlines on a recurring upload schedule
What we're looking for
Proven long-form YouTube editing experience (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar — please specify)
A real feel for true crime / bodycam pacing and storytelling, not just technical cutting
Strong attention to detail on redaction and accuracy
Reliable communicator who can take notes and turn around revisions quickly
Nice to have
Familiarity with the bodycam/true crime genre on YouTube
Experience with caption/subtitle workflows at volume
Thumbnail or title input (bonus, not required)
To apply: Send your portfolio or 2–3 relevant long-form samples, the software you edit in, your typical turnaround time per video, and your rate (per video or hourly).
