JOB OVERVIEW

work inside Power BI, SharePoint, and Microsoft Fabric every
day: building, troubleshooting, and maintaining the reporting assets that our dealer clients depend on. You must be
comfortable writing DAX, transforming data in Power Query (M), and managing workspaces, datasets, and access in
the Power BI Service.
needed technical skills
.1 Power BI (Desktop & Service)
- Strong working knowledge of Power BI Desktop: data modeling, star schema design, relationships, role-playing
dimensions
-Comfortable publishing, scheduling refreshes, and managing datasets, dataflows, and apps in the Power BI
Service
- Experience with workspace management, row-level security (RLS), and app distribution to external clients
- Ability to diagnose and fix broken reports, refresh failures, and gateway issues
- Familiarity with Power BI usage metrics and capacity monitoring
3.2 DAX
- Writing and debugging measures using CALCULATE, FILTER, ALL/ALLEXCEPT, time-intelligence functions,
and iterators (SUMX, AVERAGEX, etc.)
- Variables (VAR/RETURN), context transition, and understanding of row vs. filter context
- Building KPIs around financial/loan portfolio metrics: delinquency, charge-off, recency, aging buckets,
collections performance, inventory turn, gross profit
- Optimizing slow measures and reading query plans / DAX Studio output is a plus
3.3 Power Query / M Code
- Comfortable reading and writing M, not just clicking through the UI
-Merging, appending, pivoting/unpivoting, conditional columns, custom functions, parameters
-Connecting to SharePoint folders/lists, Excel, CSVs, SQL, and REST APIs
- Building reusable dataflows in the Service
3.4 SharePoint
- Managing document libraries used as data sources for dealer file drops
- Permissions, sharing, versioning
- Structuring folders so refreshes don't break when files change
05 — DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build new report pages and visuals based on founder direction or client requests
- Write and refine DAX measures for new KPIs
- Maintain and improve existing M queries; refactor when source data changes
- Set up and monitor scheduled refreshes; troubleshoot failures
- Onboard new dealer clients: provision workspaces, apply RLS, share apps
- Clean and reshape client-provided files (CSV, Excel) in Power Query
- Document data models, measures, and processes
- Respond to client-reported reporting issues with a first-pass diagnosis before escalating
- Test reports against known data before release
06 — SOFT SKILLS & WORK STYLE
- Self-directed — can take a Loom video or written brief and run with it
- Asks clarifying questions before building (vs. guessing and rebuilding twice)
- Comfortable being on a daily check-in call
- Strong written English; able to communicate clearly with a U.S. founder
- Detail-oriented — in financial reporting, small errors compound
- Discretion with confidential dealer data
