UX / Front-End Contractor (Remote)

We are looking for a skilled UX / Front-End Contractor to help improve and prepare a digital platform for launch. This role combines UX strategy, accessibility improvements, wireframing, and front-end implementation. You’ll work directly with the founder and take ownership of both recommendations and execution — this is not just a design handoff role.
This is a remote contract opportunity with potential for ongoing work after launch.
About the Role
The platform includes:


A modern Astro marketing website
A React / TypeScript web application
User onboarding and recording workflows
Mobile and responsive experiences


A major focus of this project is designing for non-technical users, including older adults, so accessibility and simplicity are extremely important.

What You'll Do
UX & Front-End Improvements
Conduct a UX audit of the marketing site and onboarding flows
Identify usability issues and recommend improvements
Implement approved UX enhancements directly in the front end


Create wireframes for:
Homepage conversion flow
Recording workflow
Pricing page
Accessibility & Usability
Perform WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility audits
Fix accessibility issues across the platform
Improve keyboard navigation and screen-reader compatibility
Build an “elderly user mode” with:

Larger text
High contrast UI
Simplified navigation
Mobile & Responsive Optimisation
Improve rendering and usability across:
iOS Safari
Android Chrome
Tablets and iPads

Content & SEO Support
Upload and format blog posts and policy pages
Apply SEO best practices including:


Meta descriptions
Open Graph tags
Canonical tags
Sitemap verification
Analytics & Launch Readiness
Configure or verify GA4 tracking
Ensure conversion tracking is properly implemented


Support final launch readiness checks
Team Training
At project completion, you will:
Run a recorded training session
Create a simple documentation guide

Teach the team how to:
Update website content
Add blog posts
Replace images
Manage policy pages
Required Skills
Strong React + TypeScript experience
Experience working with Astro
UX/UI design and wireframing skills
Accessibility implementation experience (WCAG 2.1 AA)
Responsive/mobile-first development
Ability to work independently
Strong written communication
Highly Valued
Experience designing for elderly or non-technical users
Accessibility-focused UX work
GA4 and SEO implementation experience
Figma proficiency
Experience with cloud-hosted front-end applications
