Freelance UI/UX Designer

Location: Remote (preferred overlap with GMT)

About the Role:
We’re looking for a freelance UI/UX Designer to support ongoing digital work, primarily focused
on website design for automotive clients. You’ll be working closely with project managers and
stakeholders, often building on existing design systems while also creating new assets where
needed.

This role suits someone who can balance strong visual design with practical UX thinking —
especially when working within the constraints of CMS platforms and backend systems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and iterate on responsive website experiences for automotive brands
• Work confidently in Figma, using and extending existing design systems and components
• Create new UI assets, layouts, and interaction patterns where required
• Translate briefs, wireframes, or rough concepts into polished UI/UX solutions
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure designs are feasible within CMS and backend
limitations
• Refine and improve existing designs based on feedback and performance considerations
• Potentially support design work for internal digital tools or products
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, ideally in a freelance or agency environment
• Strong proficiency in Figma (components, auto layout, shared libraries, etc.)
• Solid understanding of UX principles, accessibility, and responsive design
• Comfortable working with existing assets and design systems, not just new projects
• Ability to design pragmatically around technical constraints
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently

Nice to Have:
• Experience designing automotive websites or working with automotive brands
• Familiarity with common CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress, headless CMS setups, or similar
– ideally Umbraco as that’s what we use a version of)
• Experience collaborating closely with project managers and frontend developers
• Understanding of performance, SEO, or CRO considerations in design
