At MSE Supplies, we power scientific breakthroughs. As a fast-growing supplier of advanced materials, lab equipment, and analytical instruments, we serve innovators in more than 70 countries—helping researchers, engineers, and manufacturers solve tough problems every day.
We’re on a mission to make top-tier scientific tools more accessible, more responsive, and more personal. That starts with building a highly optimized, data-driven digital infrastructure that ensures our products are found by the global scientific community.
Position Overview:
MSE Supplies LLC is seeking a highly analytical, systems-driven Technical SEO & Analytics Specialist to manage the data, health, and strategy of our organic search ecosystem. This role has zero content writing responsibilities. Instead, you will act as our SEO architect—owning our dashboards, tracking organic performance, uncovering keyword opportunities, and monitoring our backlink profile.
The ideal candidate lives in data. You will be responsible for translating complex search metrics into actionable growth strategies, ensuring our site’s technical health is flawless, and positioning our e-commerce catalog to dominate both traditional search and emerging AI Overviews.
Responsibilities:
- Build & Maintain SEO Dashboards: Design, build, and manage performance dashboards (using Looker Studio, Google Analytics 4, and Google Search Console) to track traffic, revenue attribution, keyword rankings, and technical site health.
- Deep-Dive Keyword Research: Conduct continuous, granular keyword research using SEMrush and Ahrefs to identify high-intent, long-tail search terms in the STEM and laboratory supply markets. Map these opportunities directly to our product architecture.
- Backlink Monitor & Link Health: Oversee and audit our backlink profile. Monitor link velocity, track toxic domains, analyze competitor link-building strategies, and ensure internal link equity is distributed perfectly to high-margin product pages.
- AI Overview (SGE) & Rank Tracking: Track and analyze our visibility within Google’s AI Overviews. Monitor how algorithm shifts impact our keyword footprint and identify schema or structural changes needed to capture AI citations.
- Technical Site Audits: Run regular site crawls (e.g., Screaming Frog, SEMrush) to identify and fix crawl errors, broken links, indexing issues, canonical errors, and page speed bottlenecks across thousands of SKUs.
- On-Page Technical Architecture: Manage the logical structure of the site, ensuring perfect implementation of H1-H4 hierarchies, meta data templates, and URL structures without touching actual content creation.
- Competitor Intelligence: Conduct regular data-scraping and gap analysis on competitor domains to reverse-engineer their organic search market share and technical setups.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Technical SEO & Analytics Focus: 3+ years of experience in technical SEO, SEO data analysis, or e-commerce search operations.
- Advanced Tool Stack Mastery: Power-user capabilities in SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and Google Search Console.
- Data Visualization: Proven experience building clean, actionable reporting dashboards using Looker Studio or Excel/Google Sheets.
- Technical HTML/Crawl Literacy: Deep understanding of how search engine spiders crawl websites, including robots.txt management, sitemap architecture, schema markup, and status codes.
- Ability to work in US time zones.
What Sets You Apart:
- E-Commerce Catalog Experience: Prior experience optimizing massive Shopify or similar B2B e-commerce sites with thousands of highly technical product variants.
- Basic Scripting/Regex: Familiarity with regular expressions (Regex) for data filtering, or basic Python/SQL for automated data extraction.
- STEM Industry Exposure: Experience looking at technical terms or handling SEO data for chemical, engineering, or industrial B2B companies.
