JOB OVERVIEW

As Tech Lead for our Philippines-based development team, you will serve as the critical bridge between our
U.S.-based architecture and product teams and the execution team in the Philippines. You'll lead technical
delivery, ensure code quality, coordinate sprint execution, and translate high-level requirements into actionable
development tasks.
This role requires both strong technical expertise and leadership skills. You'll be accountable for sprint delivery
while being responsible for code reviews, mentoring tea ---------- mbers, and maintaining alignment with
U.S.-defined architecture standards. You'll work in a collaborative, cross-timezone environment where clear
communication and proactive problem-solving are essential.

1. Technical Leadership & Delivery (Accountable)
• Sprint Planning & Coordination: Break down feature requirements from U.S. Product team into actionable
tasks, assign work to Backend, Frontend, AI/ML, and QA tea ---------- mbers
• Code Reviews: Act as first reviewer for all code changes, ensuring adherence to architecture standards,
coding conventions, and best practices
• Technical Decision Making: Make day-to-day technical decisions within established architectural guidelines
• System Architecture Implementation: Implement and enforce U.S.-defined system architecture across all
development work
• API & Data Model Design: Collaborate with U.S. Architecture team on API design and data models, ensuring
proper implementation
• Release Planning: Coordinate with DevOps on deployment schedules and post-release verification
2. Team Management & Mentorship
• Daily Stand-ups: Lead 15-20 minute daily stand-ups with Philippines team to track progress, identify
blockers, and set priorities
• Mentoring: Provide technical guidance, code review feedback, and career development support to team
members
• Performance Management: Track individual and team performance, escalate concerns, and celebrate
successes
• Skill Development: Identify training needs and foster continuous learning within the team
3. Cross-Timezone Collaboration
• Weekly U.S. Sync: Participate in 30-60 minute weekly calls with U.S. Architecture & Product teams for feature
alignment, clarifications, and feedback
• Time Zone Bridge: Overlap with U.S. East Coast core hours (8 AM - 12 PM ET) for synchronous
collaboration
• Asynchronous Communication: Manage Slack/Teams communications for questions, blockers, and
updates
• Task Management: Maintain Jira/Trello/Linear boards with current status, backlog grooming, and sprint
tracking
• Escalation Management: Flag critical blockers and deviations to U.S. leadership promptly
4. Quality Assurance & Standards
• Code Quality: Enforce U.S.-defined coding standards, architectural patterns, and best practices
• Documentation: Maintain living documentation of pipelines, prompt changes, configuration updates, and
system architecture
• Review & Approval: Review critical components (architecture changes, prompt templates, schema
modifications) with U.S. team before deployment
• Production Support: Coordinate production issue response and resolution
5. Stakeholder Communication
• Status Reporting: Provide regular progress updates, risk assessments, and sprint summaries to U.S.
leadership
• Requirement Clarification: Ensure team understands feature specs and proactively ask clarifying questions
• Retrospectives: Lead weekly retrospectives to review workflow, identify blockers, and drive continuous
improvement
