About the Role
I am looking for a highly driven, strategic, and persuasive Speaker Engagement Manager to help grow Steve’s speaking and advisory business. This person will be responsible for securing paid speaking engagements, negotiating contracts, and ensuring Steve gets the best opportunities at the best rates. The right candidate must be a self-starter, confident in high-level negotiations, and skilled at identifying and closing deals.
This is a client-facing, sales-oriented role that requires someone who can actively seek out opportunities, build relationships, and professionally represent Steve in negotiations and discussions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Outreach – Identify and pursue high-value speaking engagements, workshops, and advisory opportunities.
Negotiation & Deal-Making – Secure the best possible terms for Steve, including fees, travel, and contract terms.
Client & Partner Relations – Serve as the main point of contact for event organizers, speaker bureaus, and corporate clients.
Sales & Brand Positioning – Effectively pitch Steve’s expertise and tailor proposals to meet client needs.
Market Research – Stay ahead of industry trends and identify potential opportunities for Steve’s thought leadership.
Coordination & Logistics – Manage all aspects of bookings, from initial outreach to contract signing and post-event follow-up.
Strategic Growth – Contribute ideas and execute initiatives to expand Steve’s reach and influence in the speaking industry.
What We’re Looking For
Proven Sales & Negotiation Experience – Background in sales, business development, talent management, or event booking is strongly preferred.
Exceptional Communication Skills – Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to persuasively pitch and close deals.
High Initiative & Self-Motivation – A proactive problem solver who takes action without waiting for direction.
Relationship-Driven Approach – Comfortable building and maintaining connections with executives, event organizers, and key stakeholders.
Strong Organizational & Time Management Skills – Ability to handle multiple engagements and deadlines efficiently.
Confident & Adaptable – Must be assertive, professional, and able to hold their own in negotiations with high-profile clients.
Energy & Drive – Steve is high-energy, and this role requires someone equally dynamic and motivated.
Familiarity with Leadership & Workplace Trends – Understanding of topics such as company culture, talent strategy, and the future of work is a plus.
Integrity & Professionalism – A strong sense of ethics and responsibility in representing Steve’s brand and business interests.
