JOB OVERVIEW

Role:
Solar PV Design & Technical Specialist (Remote)
We’re Solar Guys Pro, a fast-growing e-commerce startup simplifying the chaos of buying solar equipment.
Whether you're building an off-grid cabin, a home backup system, or a full-scale solar array, we help customers get the right products, expert guidance, and fast delivery — without the usual complexity and delays that plague this industry.
We don’t just list SKUs. We solve real operational problems, for both customers and suppliers by simplifying the supply chain of solar.
In a space of outdated technology and inefficient systems, our vision is to become the most operationally efficient backend in the solar e-commerce space, built with smart systems, lean processes, and a laser focus on execution.
We’re lean. We’re profitable. We move fast.
No investors. No fluff. Just clean systems, clean energy, and clean execution.
We're a small remote team with a bias toward action, ownership, and results.
Every person here is a builder — not a bystander.

Your mission is simple:

- Build and maintain the technical foundation of our solar systems — every single day.
- You will own the full technical function of a fast-growing 7-figure solar e-commerce company.
- From system sizing to full configurations, BOM creation to system standardization, you’ll ensure our technical engine is accurate, scalable, and efficient.
- This is not a passive technical role.
- You won’t just “design systems.”
- You will interpret requirements, question configurations, improve system logic, and build scalable solutions.
- We’re looking for a detail-obsessed, fast-moving Solar PV Specialist with strong experience (2–5+ years), preferably in off-grid and hybrid systems.
- You should be meticulous and structured — but also proactive, system-oriented, and two steps ahead. Someone who sees technical gaps before they arise and builds systems to prevent them.
- You'll be the person ensuring our systems are complete, our configurations are accurate, our kits are install-ready, and our technical foundation is rock solid across all products, setups, and use cases.

Work Schedule
- This is a full-time remote role (8 hours/day). You must be fully available during 9 AM – 5 PM EST, M-F.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solar System Design
Own the full lifecycle of solar system design, including system sizing, architecture, and configuration
Design off-grid, hybrid, and grid-tied systems based on real-world use cases
Create complete system layouts (roof and ground mount)
2. System Configuration & Technical Accuracy
Build complete, install-ready Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all systems
Ensure all required components are included (wiring, breakers, mounts, etc.)
Validate compatibility across all system components
Identify and eliminate missing components, errors, and configuration risks
3. Technical System Logic & Standardization
Define how products work together across all system types
Build and maintain standardized system templates (e.g., 5kW, 10kW, off-grid kits)
Reduce dependency on fully custom builds by creating structured, repeatable systems
4. Systems, Processes & Automation
Maintain and optimize technical data across the Order Management System (OMS) and related tools
Use Google Sheets and internal tools to build structured system logic, trackers, and configuration frameworks
5. Technical Strategy & System Development
Act as the company’s technical truth source, ensuring all systems are accurate and reliable
Identify technical inefficiencies, risks, or gaps — and proactively propose solutions
Provide structured, scalable system logic that allows the business to grow efficiently without errors

To excel in this role, you must be able/have the following:

- 2–5+ years of hands-on solar PV system design experience (off-grid or hybrid strongly preferred)
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Clear communication is critical
- Strong understanding of system sizing, load calculations, and solar system architecture
- Hands-on experience working with inverters, batteries, panels, and balance of system components
- Experience building complete, real-world solar system configurations (not just theoretical designs)
- Experience with solar design tools such as HelioScope, Aurora Solar, or PV*SOL
- Strong Google Sheets skills (ability to structure systems, logic, and configurations)
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with multiple system builds and iterations

Personal Traits:

- Highly detail-oriented — you notice when a single component is missing
- Thinks in systems, configurations, and structured logic
- Obsessed with clean, complete, and install-ready system builds
- Strong problem solver who can turn technical complexity into clear solutions
- Enjoys turning messy requirements into scalable, repeatable systems
- Calm, responsible, reliable, and execution-focused

What’s in it for you?
???? Competitive Salary – $1,000/month base + performance bonuses
???? Fully Remote – Work from anywhere with full flexibility ???? Growth & Influence – Be part of a 7-figure brand on track to scale fast, your work will shape the technical foundation of the company
???? 14 days paid time off – Recharge and refresh with flexible PTO
???? Performance Bonuses – Earn more based on output, speed, and accuracy
???? Creative Freedom – Take complex technical problems and build clean, scalable solutions

How to Apply
If this role sounds like a perfect fit, we’d love to hear from you. Here’s how to apply:
Step 1: Submit your CV/resume and a past project for solar design (PREFERABLY OFF-GRID WITH EG4 EQUIPMENT)
Step 2 (If shortlisted): Complete a short 10-minute test task
Step 3: Final interview with the CEO.
