Senior Web Developer (WordPress + Shopify) - Long-Term, Quality-Focused

We are hiring a Web Developer to build and maintain our portfolio of WordPress and Shopify websites for the long term. This is not a project-based gig. We want to find one excellent developer and work together for years.

You will work alongside one other web developer on our team and report to our Marketing Manager. This is not a lead or management role. You will be an individual contributor who can take a project from a Figma file to a polished, live site without needing close supervision. You should be comfortable owning your work, asking the right questions, and shipping clean, reliable code on your own.

Quality matters more to us than speed. If you tend to ship fast and iterate later, this is not the role for you. If you take pride in clean code, pixel-accurate implementation, and getting it right the first time, please keep reading.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Build and maintain WordPress and Shopify websites using existing themes and custom development
- Implement designs from Figma with pixel-level accuracy and proper responsive behavior
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
- Handle minor design decisions and small UI work when needed (most design comes from our team)
- Optimize for page speed, accessibility, and SEO
- Troubleshoot issues across the site portfolio and ship reliable fixes
- Collaborate with our marketing team and graphic designer

REQUIRED SKILLS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
- 5+ years of professional WordPress development, including custom theme work
- 2+ years of Shopify theme customization (Liquid, sections, settings)
- Strong HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript
- Proficient with Figma (reading designs, exporting assets, replicating spacing/typography exactly)
- PHP fluency for WordPress hooks, custom post types, and ACF
- Experience optimizing Core Web Vitals
- Clear written English (B2 minimum, C1+ preferred)

NICE TO HAVE
- HubSpot CMS experience
- Tailwind CSS
- Basic understanding of GA4 / GTM event setup
- Experience with custom plugin development

WHO WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR
To save us both time, please do not apply if any of these are true:
- Your strongest experience is React/Astro/Next.js without significant WordPress work
- You prefer rapid prototyping over careful implementation
- You are looking for short-term contract or one-off project work
- You have less than 5 years of total professional WordPress experience
- You want to lead a team or do architecture-level decisions. This is a hands-on individual contributor role.

1. A portfolio link showing 3+ live WordPress or Shopify websites you personally built (not just designed). Include the live URL, your specific role on each project, and the year completed.

2. A short paragraph (4 to 6 sentences) about one specific WordPress or Shopify project where you are particularly proud of the implementation quality. Tell us what made it technically challenging and how you solved it.

3. A code sample link (GitHub, public Gist, or similar) showing a piece of WordPress or Shopify work you wrote. Even a small custom function, ACF field setup, or Liquid section is fine. We want to see how you write code.

4. Your monthly rate expectation for full-time work (40 hours/week), and confirmation that you can have 4+ hours of overlap with US Pacific Time daily and are looking for long-term work.

- Full-time remote, Philippines-based
- Schedule: Flexible, but minimum 4 hours overlap with US Pacific Time
