JOB OVERVIEW

We're a performance marketing agency running paid social for DTC brands across supplements, beauty, real estate, and lifestyle verticals. We spend serious money on Meta every month and creative is the lever that d ---------- whether accounts scale or stall. We're not looking for someone to just "cut videos" — we're looking for a creative partner who understands that on Meta, the editor is the media buyer's most important teammate.

We test creative aggressively. Winners get scaled, losers get killed, and we iterate weekly. The editors we love are the ones who treat every ad like a hypothesis and every variant like a data point.

THE ROLE

You'll own the post-production pipeline for multiple brands. That means taking raw UGC footage, creator deliverables, product shots, sourced B-roll, and AI-generated assets and turning them into ad variants that print money on Meta.

Three pillars to this role:

1. Editing. You can cut a UGC ad in your sleep — hooks, pacing, captions, sound design, the works.

2. Sourcing B-roll. A huge part of making UGC ads work is finding the right supporting footage. That means knowing where to pull stock clips, digging through Pinterest and TikTok for reference and inspiration, finding free-use clips on YouTube, scraping competitor ads fro ---------- ta ad library, and knowing which clips are licensed for commercial use vs. which will get us in trouble. Half the battle is taste — knowing the exact shot that lands the message — and the other half is research speed.

3. Generating B-roll and A-roll with AI. When sourced footage doesn't exist or doesn't fit, you generate it. If we need a shot of a woman pouring coffee at 6am with golden hour lighting and the sourced clips look generic, you should be able to generate that in Higgsfield or Flow inside an hour and have it cut into the edit by end of day.

The editors who win in 2026 are the ones who can move fluidly between all three: cut creator UGC, source perfect supporting clips, and generate the impossible shots. That's what we're hiring for.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING

- Editing 5–15 ad variants per week across multiple brands
- Cutting hooks (we usually test 3–5 hook variants per concept, same body)
- Pacing edits for direct response — fast cuts, motion, pattern interrupts, captioned throughout
- Sourcing B-roll from stock libraries, social platforms, and free archives — and knowing what's legally clear to use
- Building reference boards fro ---------- ta ad library, competitor ads, and viral organic content
- Generating A-roll talking-head clips when we need spokesperson angles we don't have footage for
- Creating AI B-roll: lifestyle shots, product close-ups, transformations, before/afters, environmental context
- Building character-consistent AI footage when we're running a series or recurring "spokesperson"
- Mixing UGC creator footage with sourced clips and AI-generated supplementary footage seamlessly
- Adding captions (burned-in, branded styling), sound design, music, SFX
- Versioning ads for different placements (Reels, Feed, Stories) and aspect ratios
- Communicating async via Slack/Loom with the media buyer on what's working and what's not

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Editing chops:
- 2+ years editing DTC/UGC ads that actually ran on Meta or TikTok
- Portfolio with examples we can verify ran as paid ads (bonus if you have performance data)
- Native fluency in Premiere, CapCut, or DaVinci — we don't care which, just be fast
- Strong instinct for direct response: you know why a 0.8 second hook beats a 2 second one, you understand thumb-stop ratio, and you've watched enough Meta ad library to recognize patterns
- Caption and subtitle work that doesn't look like default CapCut
- Sound design that doesn't sound stock (royalty-free music is fine, lazy music choice is not)

B-roll sourcing skills:
- Active accounts or familiarity with Storyblocks, Artgrid, Envato, Motion Array, Pexels, Pixabay, or similar
- You know how to search efficiently — you don't burn 2 hours looking for the right clip
- You understand commercial licensing basics (what's safe, what's not, when in doubt how to verify)
- You have a system for saving and organizing reference inspiration (Pinterest boards, Notion, Eagle, Milanote — whatever works)
- You can pull fro ---------- ta ad library and TikTok creative center to inform your edits and find inspiration footage

AI generation experience:
- Hands-on production experience with at least 2 of: Higgsfield (Soul, DoP, character training), Google Flow / Veo 3, Kling, Runway, Sora, Nano Banana
- You've solved real problems with these tools — character consistency across clips, lip sync, motion control, prompt engineering for specific aesthetics
- You understand the failure modes (warped hands, weird physics, identity drift) and how to work around them
- You have a perspective on which tool to reach for when — not just "I use whatever"

Process:
- Fast async communication
- Comfortable working from briefs, scripts, and reference ads
- Self-directed — we'll give you direction and references, but you should bring ideas
- Honest when something isn't working

BONUS POINTS

- Supplement, beauty, or health DTC experience
- You've reverse-engineered winning ads fro ---------- ta ad library and can articulate why they work
- Familiarity with creative testing frameworks (hook-body-CTA structure, modular variants)
- You've used Higgsfield Soul for character consistency or trained custom characters
- ElevenLabs or similar AI voice work
- Motion graphics chops (After Effects, or template-based motion in CapCut)
- You follow people like Ed (Ad Burnouts), Barrett, Nick Shackelford, or have your own creative inspiration sources

LOGISTICS

- Type: Contract, with a clear path to ongoing retainer for the right person
- Hours: Start at ~15–25 hrs/week, can grow
- Location: Remote, async-friendly. Some overlap with PST hours preferred but not required
- Rate: Tell us yours. We pay competitively for editors who can actually do all three sides of this (UGC editing + B-roll sourcing + AI generation is rare — we know that)
- Tools we'll cover: AI generation tool subscriptions and stock library access if you don't already have them

HOW TO APPLY

Applications missing any of these get skipped:

1. Portfolio link — Vimeo, personal site, ---------- , Google Drive folder. We want to see DTC/UGC ads, not wedding videos or short films.

2. 2–3 AI-generated clips you've made — A-roll, B-roll, character work, whatever shows your range. Raw clips are fine. Tell us which tool and what the prompt/process was.

3. One ad you didn't make but love — link it and tell us in 3–4 sentences why it works. This tells us how you think.

4. Your B-roll sourcing stack — which stock libraries you have access to, where else you pull from, and your process for finding the right clip fast.

5. Your AI stack — which tools you use, which you'd reach for first, and one limitation of your favorite tool.

6. Your rate — hourly or per-edit, both fine. Be honest about where you are.

7. Availability — hours per week, time zone, when you can start.
