About us

BJ-ECOM is a growing e-commerce company with a team of 30+ people working across marketing, operations, product, customer support, and development.

We operate multiple Shopify stores in Europe, the United States, and other international markets. Most of our stores are in fashion, and we are currently expanding the way we build and improve our Shopify themes across a large portfolio of brands.

We are looking for a full-time Shopify Store Builder & Theme Designer who can do more than basic Shopify editing.

We need someone who can build complete stores, customize themes properly, make strong design decisions, and create storefronts that feel clean, modern, trustworthy, and easy to shop from.

This role is a mix of store building, theme design, UX thinking, and structured execution.

What You’ll Work On

You will help us build and improve Shopify stores for different fashion brands and markets.

Your work will include setting up new stores, customizing Shopify themes, improving layouts, adapting designs for different brand identities, and making sure each store looks professional on both desktop and mobile.

You will also help us create reusable structures so we can build faster without making every store look the same.

The goal is not to copy and paste one design across every brand. We want a strong system, but each store still needs its own identity.

Responsibilities

Build 3–5 Shopify stores or theme builds per week

Customize Shopify Theme Store themes and high-quality third-party themes

Create clean, modern, mobile-first storefronts

Build homepages, collection pages, product pages, navigation, and basic store structure

Improve spacing, typography, layout flow, and overall visual hierarchy

Adapt themes for different fashion brands, countries, and languages

Keep the Shopify backend clean and organized

Follow internal systems and SOPs

Make sure stores are structured in a way that is suitable for
Google Merchant Center

Work independently and communicate clearly about progress or blockers

What We’re Looking For

3+ years of experience building or designing Shopify stores

Strong experience with Shopify theme customization

Experience with fashion e-commerce stores

A portfolio with Shopify stores you personally worked on

Good eye for layout, spacing, typography, and brand feel

Understanding of mobile-first design and e-commerce UX

Ability to work quickly without making messy stores

Comfortable working with clear systems and repeatable structures

Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to take ownership
Long-term availability

Experience working with multiple countries or languages is a plus.

You cannot show stores you personally built or designed
You have no fashion e-commerce experience
You depend on constant step-by-step instructions
You build stores without thinking about UX or conversion
You are only looking for short-term freelance projects
