Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior SEO Strategist to lead the SEO strategy and day-to-day execution for a portfolio of clients. This is a client-facing, hands-on role responsible for owning strategy, guiding execution, managing expectations, and delivering results.
You will act as the primary SEO lead for your clients—translating business goals into clear SEO roadmaps, collaborating with internal copy and development teams, and communicating progress in a way that clients understand and trust.
While SEO is the priority, the person in this role should be an expert story-teller and be able to create presentations that allow clients to get buy-in with shareholders. This role is almost 50/50 building client presentations and driving SEO results.
This is a full-time, remote role, with required working-hour overlap with US Central and Eastern Time zones.
Key Responsibilities
Client Strategy & Leadership:
Own SEO strategy for a portfolio of clients, primarily in local SEO and home services
Serve as the primary SEO point of contact, leading client calls and strategic discussions
Create presentations that show expertise and strategic guidance
Develop and present SEO roadmaps, performance reviews, and strategic recommendations
Tell a clear, compelling story with data—connecting SEO efforts to business outcomes
Set realistic expectations, communicate trade-offs, and proactively manage client concerns
SEO Execution & Oversight:
Lead keyword research, competitive analysis, and SEO audits
Define and oversee on-page SEO strategies, internal linking, content optimization, and technical recommendations
Guide and evaluate link-building and authority-building strategies
Monitor performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other SEO platforms (Ahrefs and LocalFalcon)
Translate insights into actionable next steps for clients and internal teams
LLM & AI Search Discoverability:
Incorporate LLM and AI-driven search considerations into SEO strategies (e.g., entity optimization, topical authority, content structure, and semantic relevance)
Optimize content and site architecture for discoverability in AI-powered search experiences and answer engines
Stay informed on evolving search behavior related to generative AI and adapt strategies accordingly
Cross-Team Collaboration:
Work closely with copywriters, developers, and other specialists to ensure SEO recommendations are implemented fully and correctly
Provide clear briefs, feedback, and prioritization to move work from strategy to completion
Ensure timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met across teams
Scheduling & Time Zone Expectations:
Must be able to schedule and attend client calls with overlap into US Central and Eastern Time
Occasional flexibility is expected for infrequent client calls outside overlapping hours
Strong ability to manage calendars, set boundaries, and coordinate schedules proactively
Qualifications & Experience Required:
5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with a strong emphasis on strategy
Proven experience with local SEO and home services clients (both required)
Demonstrated success through case studies showing measurable SEO results
Strong expertise in:
Keyword research and SEO audits
On-page SEO and content optimization
Link-building strategies
Web analytics and performance analysis
Experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and similar SEO platforms
Excellent communication skills—able to explain complex SEO concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
Preferred:
Experience working in an agency or client-services environment
Familiarity with technical SEO concepts and collaborating with development teams
Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability as search evolves with AI and LLMs
