Senior Platform Engineer

Overview

We’re hiring a hands-on senior engineer / architect to migrate a ---------- platform from AWS to a cloud-agnostic stack (Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Cloudflare).

This is an end-to-end ownership role — architecture, implementation, and production cutover.

Responsibilities
Migrate core infrastructure from AWS:
Secrets (? HashiCorp Vault)
Image pipeline (S3/Lambda ? R2 + imgproxy)
Logging (CloudWatch ? Grafana/Loki)
Lead infrastructure migration:
Provision VPS + managed PostgreSQL
Migrate database safely
Deploy via Docker / Docker Compose
Execute zero-downtime cutover:
Parallel run
DNS switch via Cloudflare
Controlled AWS decommission
Ensure safe rollout + rollback at every stage

Requirements
---------- / C# backend experience
Proven experience migrating live production systems
Solid understanding of:
Docker / containerised systems
Cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar)
PostgreSQL (backup, restore, migration)
Experience with:
Secure systems (OAuth2, auth flows)
Secrets management (Vault or similar)

Nice to Have
Cloudflare (CDN, DNS, R2)
GitLab CI/CD
Observability tools (Grafana, Loki)
.NET Aspire
Experience reducing vendor lock-in

Role Expectations

This is not a DevOps-only role.

You will:

Own architecture decisions
Execute the migration
Manage risk, rollback, and production stability

Success Criteria
Zero data loss
Minimal/no downtime
AWS fully decommissioned
Platform running on a simpler, lower-cost architecture
