Senior Laravel Developer (Technical Lead Path)

We are searching for a high-level Laravel expert ready to take ownership of a rapidly growing large-scale platform and help engineer the future of Australia’s leading entertainment technology ecosystem.

Our system is powered by a Laravel backend, a WordPress VIP front-end, and deep integrations across the Microsoft ecosystem. We operate a multi-brand, multi-site environment with a clear roadmap for national expansion.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to lead backend direction, influence architecture, work on modern AI integrations, and be part of a long-term, meaningful project.


Role Summary

You will become the technical lead for our Laravel backend, taking ownership of:

Laravel Backend Development (Primary Focus)
• Building and extending our core platform features
• Architecting clean, scalable backend logic
• Optimising APIs, queues, performance, and security
• Reviewing, documenting, and upgrading existing codebases

Platform Ownership
• Lead the backend transition from our current agency
• Manage our custom Laravel API powering a multi-site network
• Strengthen architecture for long-term ecosystem growth

WordPress VIP Integration
• Implement components that work within VIP constraints
• Manage templates, logic, and integrations
• Maintain performance across multiple brands

Microsoft & AI Integration
• Connect Laravel workflows to Microsoft services
• Assist in future data architecture across Microsoft 365, Azure, and related tools
• Help integrate modern AI tools (Azure OpenAI, automation, data pipelines, optimisations)

Leadership & Collaboration
• Work directly with the founder (tech-led environment)
• Contribute to technical planning and system decision-making
• Document processes, improve pipelines, and guide future hires


Required Experience (Laravel First)

We strongly prefer candidates with deep experience in:
• PHP 8+ / Laravel 9–10+
• API development & integrations
• Queues, workers, events
• MySQL database architecture
• CI/CD, versioning, deployments
• Security best practices
• Clean architecture and scalable design


Highly Valued (Bonus Skills)

Not required — but highly looked upon:
• WordPress VIP / enterprise WP
• Multi-brand or multisite architectures
• Marketplace or booking systems
• Azure, Microsoft ecosystem
• AI integrations (Azure OpenAI, embeddings, smart search)
• Elasticsearch / Meilisearch / Azure Search
• Server migrations, deployments, infrastructure experience

Salary

We offer a higher senior-level salary range depending on experience and technical proficiency.
Exceptional Laravel engineers will be placed at the upper end of our range.
