Senior Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team.

In this role, you will work extensively with Microsoft Fabric (pipelines, notebooks, dataflows), SQL, Python, and Power BI to manage and enhance business intelligence (BI) assets. You will be responsible for both business-as-usual (BAU) operations, troubleshooting, and ensuring the ongoing maintenance of BI platforms. Your expertise will be key in driving improvements and optimizing the performance of our BI solutions while communicating effectively with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:
• Data Engineering & Transformation:
Utilize Microsoft Fabric (pipelines, notebooks, dataflows) to design, build, and manage data solutions. Create and maintain efficient data pipelines to ensure clean, structured, and accessible data for analytics.
• SQL & Python Scripting:
Write complex SQL queries and scripts to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various sources. Use Python to automate workflows, perform data processing, and enhance reporting capabilities.
• Power BI Development & Maintenance:
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI. Use DAX and Power Query to create advanced calculated columns, measures, and data transformations. Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of BI reports.
• Business-As-Usual (BAU) Support:
Manage daily operations and maintenance tasks related to BI assets, ensuring that data systems, reports, and dashboards function smoothly and are updated with accurate and timely information.
• Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
Address any issues related to data pipelines, reporting, or BI infrastructure. Quickly troubleshoot and resolve technical problems to minimize downtime and ensure the reliability of BI solutions.
• Platform Improvements & Optimization:
Identify areas for improvement in the existing BI platform and implement enhancements to optimize performance, usability, and scalability. Propose and implement changes that contribute to the ongoing evolution of the platform.
• Stakeholder Management & Communication:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translate those into BI solutions, and deliver actionable insights. Communicate complex technical findings to non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
• Collaboration & Mentorship:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, and IT teams, to ensure the seamless integration of data solutions. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior teaUpgrade to see actual infombers, fostering a culture of learning and development.
• Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
Stay current with trends, tools, and best practices in data science, business intelligence, and analytics. Apply new technologies and methods to improve data solutions and reporting processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or business intelligence, with a strong focus on SQL, Python, and Power BI development.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Fabric (pipelines, notebooks, dataflows) for building and managing data workflows.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Strong experience with Python for automating data processing, troubleshooting, and reporting tasks.
• Expertise in Power BI development (including DAX and Power Query) for creating and maintaining advanced dashboards and reports.
• Proven experience in BI platform maintenance and supporting business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to data systems and BI tools.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with stakeholder management and a proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
