We are hiring a cold email expert — someone who has spent years doing this at a high level and has the numbers to prove it. If you are still learning, this is not the role for you. We need someone who can walk in, build the entire system from scratch, and consistently deliver results without being managed.
We are a founder-led company with no existing cold email infrastructure. You will own everything from technical setup to copywriting to optimization. Leads will be provided to you — your job is to build the system that converts them into replies and booked conversations. Our team will not be guiding you. You will be guiding us.
You Must Have:
Minimum 3–5 years of dedicated cold email experience — not general marketing, not social media. Cold email specifically. A consistent, documented track record of 5%+ positive reply rates (not open rates — actual interested replies) across multiple campaigns. Experience running campaigns across multiple industries and ICPs — not just one niche. Deep technical knowledge: you have personally configured SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and managed domain and inbox health from scratch many times. Experience managing high-volume infrastructure across multiple domains and inboxes with proper sending rotation. Strong enough copywriting ability that your emails get mistaken for handwritten outreach — not templates. Experience diagnosing and fixing deliverability problems — you've been in spam before and you know exactly how to get out.
What You'll Build & Run:
Infrastructure: Full domain and inbox strategy covering quantity, naming, and age strategy. DNS setup with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configured correctly from day one. Inbox warming protocol and ongoing deliverability monitoring. Sending platform setup and configuration using Instantly, Smartlead, or equivalent.
Copywriting: Multi-step sequences written to generate replies, not just opens. Subject lines, openers, CTAs, and follow-up timing — all tested and optimized. Copy adapted to different audiences as our targeting evolves — we work with independent music artists and YouTube creators, so comfort with the creator economy is a strong plus. Ongoing A/B testing with clear documentation of what moved the needle and why.
Reporting: Weekly performance reports covering open rate, reply rate, positive reply rate, and meetings booked. Plain-language analysis of what's working and what needs to change. Honest assessment — if the copy or targeting angle is the bottleneck, we expect you to say so directly.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
You must be able to provide specific campaign data including industry, offer, reply rate, and outcome. Vague answers disqualify immediately. You must have worked with at least 3 different sending platforms — not just one tool. Fluent written English is mandatory — you are writing emails to English-speaking decision-makers, creators, and artists. You must be comfortable owning results, not just activities. We do not measure success by emails sent.
You Are Probably NOT a Fit If:
Your experience is mostly internal email marketing or newsletters. You have only run campaigns in one or two industries. You cannot share reply rate data from past campaigns. You need significant direction or hand-holding. Your best campaigns averaged below 4% positive reply rate.
Application Requirements — All Four Are Mandatory:
Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
First, share 3 specific campaigns with the offer, target audience, sending volume, and positive reply rate. Screenshots or reports are strongly preferred. Second, provide a brief technical walkthrough describing how you would set up a brand new cold email system from scratch covering domains, inboxes, warming, DNS, and sending platform. This should take you two minutes to write if you know your craft. Third, write a 3-step cold email sequence for the following scenario: a platform that helps independent music artists and YouTube creators get brand deals and monetize their content, targeting the creators themselves. Show us what you can actually write. Fourth, list the tools you use for sending, email verification, and deliverability monitoring, and explain why you prefer each one.
