Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable curriculum writer to help draft lesson plans, activities, and supporting materials for middle school Science courses aligned to US standards (NGSS / IXL-style skills).
Responsibilities
Draft weekly lesson plans based on provided unit outlines
Write clear learning objectives and activity descriptions
Align lessons to specific IXL / NGSS science skills
Create simple worksheets, lab sheets, and review questions
Organize content in Google Docs or Notion
Revise content based on feedback
Required Qualifications
Background in science education, curriculum development, or teaching (K–8 or middle school preferred)
Strong understanding of middle school science topics (matter, energy, Earth science, life science, genetics, etc.)
Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain consistency
Excellent written English (clear, simple, student-friendly)
Comfortable using Google Docs and Canva
Reliable internet and consistent availability
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience writing curriculum for US-based students
Familiarity with NGSS or IXL-style skill frameworks
Teaching experience in science or STEM subjects
Experience creating worksheets or educational materials
Work Schedule & Pay
Part-time (10–20 hours per week to start)
Flexible schedule

Pay: $5–$8 USD per hour (based on experience and quality)
Test Task (Paid)
Selected applicants will be asked to complete a paid test task, such as drafting one week of lesson plans based on a provided outline.
