JOB DESCRIPTION
We are Exponential Oaks, a digital agency helping small businesses (contractors, roofers, HVAC, home services) build websites and rank on Google.
We're hiring an SEO Specialist to manage client SEO accounts and deliver ranking results.
IMPORTANT: This is NOT a sales job. No cold calling. No outreach. Just pure SEO work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Monitor and track local keyword rankings daily using BrightLocal
• Run site audits and identify technical SEO issues using Semrush
• Optimize on-page content (titles, meta descriptions, headers, internal links)
• Manage Google Business Profile optimization and citation audits
• Research keywords and build content strategies using Semrush
• Create monthly white-label client reports using Google Data Studio
• Identify ranking opportunities and quick wins for clients
• Collaborate with web dev team on technical implementation
TOOLS WE'LL PROVIDE:
• BrightLocal (rank tracking, local SEO management)
• Semrush Pro (site audits, keyword research, competitor analysis)
• Google Search Console (free - for monitoring search performance)
• Google Analytics 4 (free - for traffic analysis)
• Google Data Studio (free - for client dashboards)
• HubSpot CRM (free - for client management)
• Google Workspace
• Slack (team communication)
• Notion (documentation and processes)
SCHEDULE:
• 15-25 hours per week (you choose when to work)
• No fixed hours - completely flexible
• Respond to clients within 24 hours
• Submit monthly reports by agreed deadline
YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS:
WEEK 1-2: TRAINING
- Learn our SEO methodology and processes
- Get access to all tools (BrightLocal, Semrush, etc.)
- Review 3-5 existing client accounts
- Learn our reporting templates and format
WEEK 3-4: START MANAGING CLIENTS
- Set up rank tracking for test client accounts
- Complete site audits in Semrush
- Identify top 3 ranking opportunities per client
- Create your first monthly client reports
MONTH 2: TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY
- Manage 5-8 active SEO client accounts
- Deliver all monthly reports on schedule
- Fix technical SEO issues (coordinate with dev team)
- Track and report ranking progress to clients
MONTH 3: OPTIMIZE & SCALE
- Manage 8-12 client accounts
- Spot upsell opportunities (additional services)
- Improve content optimization recommendations
- Demonstrate client ROI (rankings ? traffic ? leads)
SUCCESS METRICS:
? 100% on-time report delivery
? Average client ranking improvement within 90 days
? Zero missed deadlines or communication lapses
? Positive client feedback and satisfaction
? Proactive identification of ranking opportunities

REQUIRED SKILLS
MUST HAVE:
• 2+ years of professional SEO experience
• Proven track record of managing client SEO campaigns
• Expert-level knowledge of BrightLocal OR similar local SEO tool (rank tracking, citation audits, GBP management)
• Expert-level knowledge of Semrush OR Ahrefs (site audits, keyword research, competitive analysis)
• Strong understanding of Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4
• Solid knowledge of technical SEO fundamentals (Core Web Vitals, page speed, crawlability, XML sitemaps, indexing)
• Strong written English communication skills (you'll write client reports)
• Detail-oriented and organized (managing multiple client accounts)
• Experience with local SEO for service-based businesses (contractors, home services, plumbers, roofers, etc.)
CANNOT HIRE IF:
? No verifiable SEO experience
? Cannot demonstrate proficiency with BrightLocal or Semrush

? Claims to guarantee rankings (we know SEO doesn't work that way)
