Revit Drafter for Design and Construction Drawings (and 3D) Long Term

WE USE REVIT ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY
This position requires the use of Revit, possibly a little autocad. We will train the right candidates on how to use revit in exchange for a reduced wage if you do not know Revit. (Conditions apply)

WHO WE SEEK
We seek architects and/ or drafts-people to assist with construction drawings on an independent contractor basis but long term. (13 month paid)

WHAT WE DO NOT WANT
If you want a remote type work wherein you never communicate with us then send the completed product on your schedule via just email please do not apply. Every minute billed is a minute worked by you. If this is you, please do not apply. Your time with us will be short lived.

HOW WILL WE COMMUNICATE
We will be meeting by zoom regularly to train you or to answer your questions and communicate by whatsapp

RELIABILITY WANTED
And just because we expect good communication and reliability does not mean this is a bad place to work. We want reliable people and if you are one of those people we hope you’ll enjoy working here because you will be valued and respected for being a very important part of our company.

EVERY MINUTE BILLED IS A MINUTE WORKED
Do not bill time to us if you are not working.

WHAT WE DO
We do mostly residential and a little commercial work. The work will be creation of permit documents/ construction drawings and the like.

A FUTURE WITH US
Candidates who are good at this work we want to grow with our company and if interested we need a few select to lead and train others to perform the work we need done.

If you are technically inclined and enjoy doing a good amount of technical work too you may be a good fit. Remember that design is just 10 to 20% of the work we do as architects. If you are a well-rounded architect your design ability will compliment you well. But you will spend more of your time on technical drawings. If this does not sound like a good fit, you need not apply. (if not a good fit please don’t apply for this position)

WE PROVIDE THE SOFTWARE
Will help provide the Revit software needed to perform the drafting/ design work. Conditions apply.

WE WANT THINKERS
We seek individuals who are reliable, can get things done, can communicate often when desired or needed, can follow instructions, Can identify the most important things that need to be done as opposed to spending time on those things that are less important.

TEST PROJECT
To begin work with us we will start with a test project on an hourly basis. If we like your work and you like the work we do we will expand the number of hours given to you.

3. A description of your experience using Revit. (Can you?):
a. Can you Create floor plans
b. Can you Add dimensions
c. Can you Setup project and true north.
d. Can you add keynotes
e. Can you Setup scope boxes
f. Can Build 3d models
g. Do you know what a shared parameter is? If yes, how have you used them?
h.. Can create families. (if yes, what families have you made? Have you made nested families?)
4. possible test project start dates.

We do not expect magic. If you are good at what you do, you stay focused while working and are honest we are confident you will do great with us.
Also we understand we all have families and they are important to you. We understand you must take care of yourself and your family and we all must do the same, therefore we are ok with you taking that time. We ask that where possible that you communicate in advance and when not possible you communicate as soon as possible after becoming aware of the need for time off. What is not acceptable is to disappear. If you do that unless there is good reason our work together will be terminated.
If we decide to work with each other you must provide us a method of texting (or similar wherein we can message each other in almost real time. If you cannot provide the method of communication, you need not apply.
