Job Title: Academic Research Assistant for Psychology Research (Part-Time, Remote)

Salary: 6-10 USD per hour (depending on experience and performance; paid weekly via PayPal or bank transfer). Pay based on experience.

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Research Assistant to support research in Psychology focused on immigrant mental health, stress, and related topics. This is a remote role ideal for someone with strong academic research skills, familiarity with psychology literature, and experience in citation verification and writing. The project involves ensuring all content is based on real, verifiable sources and compliant with APA 7th edition standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Re-write written material for better clarity and academic voice.

Verify academic studies and citations: Check if references (e.g., journal articles, meta-analyses) are real by searching databases like PubMed, Google Scholar, PMC, and DOI links. Confirm details like authors, titles, years, and DOIs.

Find and replace fabricated or outdated sources: Search for recent ( ---------- ) real studies on topics like immigrant mental health disparities, acculturative stress, psychoneuroimmunology (PNI), reinforcement sensitivity theory (RST), intergenerational effects, and culturally adapted interventions.

Rewrite sections of literature reviews: Paraphrase content in original words, integrate new sources, fix typos/grammar, and expand sections to meet length requirements (e.g., 10+ pages for specific parts).

Ensure APA 7th compliance: Format in-text citations, references lists, and overall structure. Use tools like Zotero or EndNote if needed (no installation required; use free online versions).

Run plagiarism checks: Use free tools like Grammarly or SmallSEOTools to ensure originality.

Organize research: Compile summaries, PDFs, and links for sources; create tables for comparisons (e.g., prevalence rates across studies).

Assist with expansions: Add new subsections based on real research, such as PNI mechanisms or RST applications.



This role starts immediately and could lead to ongoing work if the fit is good. You'll work closely with me via whatsapp with clear instructions for each task.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience as a research assistant, academic writer, or VA in research/education (provide samples of past work, e.g., literature reviews or citation lists).

Strong English writing and editing skills (native-level fluency preferred).

Familiarity with academic databases (PubMed, Google Scholar, PMC, JSTOR) and APA 7th edition.

Attention to detail and ability to spot inaccuracies in citations or data.

Reliable internet access and proficiency with Google Docs, Word, and basic research tools.

Experience in psychology topics like mental health, stress, immigration, or PNI is a plus.

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly.

Preferred but Not Required:

Experience verifying DOIs and accessing open-access articles.
