Remote Video Editor (Philippines-based) - Freelance

About Us

We are a freelance marketing consultancy based in Melbourne, specialising in video content creation for brands and businesses. Our team is looking to expand with a reliable, detail-oriented video editor from the Philippines who can handle basic editing tasks while working remotely.

The Role

We're seeking a skilled video editor to join our network of freelancers on a project-by-project basis. The ideal candidate will focus on the initial assembly and cutting of footage, allowing our lead editor to concentrate on finalising, colour grading, and advanced effects. Each project will come with a detailed style guide and outcome brief.

Responsibilities

Review and organise raw footage
Cut and assemble video sequences according to provided guidelines
Create rough cuts for client review
Implement basic transitions and text elements
Sync audio with video content
Prepare files for handoff to our lead editor for finalisation
Meet established deadlines and communicate progress regularly

Requirements

Based in the Philippines
2+ years of experience in video editing
Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve Studio
Strong attention to detail and good sense of pacing
Reliable internet connection for file transfers
Ability to work independently and follow direction
Good English communication skills (written and verbal)
Available to take on projects with reasonable turnaround times

Nice to Have

Experience with marketing or promotional videos
Basic understanding of motion graphics
Experience with Blackmagic Cloud collaboration
Previous remote work experience
Familiarity with proxy editing workflows

Workflow
Our established workflow includes:

Projects will be created and set up by our lead editor
Footage will be uploaded as proxies to Dropbox
You'll download and open projects via Blackmagic Cloud collaboration
After completing basic edits, you'll sync back through the cloud for finalisation
