We’re Hiring: Remote Design Operations Intern

Shades & Design Studio by Samar is looking for a motivated Remote Intern to work directly with the owner and support daily business operations, client communication, lead follow-ups, bidding, and project coordination.

This is a paid internship and a great opportunity for someone studying Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field who wants real-world experience inside a luxury design and window treatment business.

About Us

Shades & Design Studio specializes in luxury window treatments, high-end design solutions, smart shading systems, drapery, wallcoverings, outdoor shading, and full-service procurement for residential, commercial, hospitality, and marine projects.

What You’ll Do

Administrative Support:
Assist with emails, client communication, scheduling, follow-ups, and general office tasks.

Bidding & Project Support:
Help with coding systems, bid preparation, reviewing takeoffs, organizing quotes, and supporting the project workflow.

Architectural Plan Reading:
You must already know how to read and interpret architectural plans. This is required.

Client & Lead Follow-Up:
Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and leads to help keep projects moving.

Rendering Support:
Rendering skills are preferred and considered a strong plus, but not required.

General Assistance:
Support the owner with project coordination, organization, documentation, and day-to-day business tasks.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.

GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred.

Must be organized, detail-oriented, responsible, and proactive.

Must be comfortable reading architectural plans.

Strong communication skills are required.

Experience with rendering software is a plus.

Must be able to work remotely and stay on top of tasks without constant supervision.

Compensation

This is a paid internship. Compensation will be based on experience and standard internship rates.

First two weeks will be training/evalutation it will be paid at half salary. You will be paid $125 for the first two weeks until you have been approved by the company owner.
