Position Title: Accounts Analyst (Remote)
Work Schedule: 8:00am to 5:00pm EST
Job Summary
We are looking for a data-driven Accounts Analyst to oversee the accuracy and synchronization of our financial data across multiple platforms. This position focuses on the analytical side of our finances, identifying trends, reconciling complex data sets between Lightspeed and QuickBooks, and providing the Finance Manager with the insights needed to optimize our financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze financial records to identify discrepancies, trends, or opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
• Monitor and report on key financial metrics, including inventory turnover, profit margins, and departmental spend
• Assist the Finance Manager in preparing comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Audit transactional data to ensure proper coding to cost centers and general ledger accounts
• Conduct variance analysis to compare actual financial results against budgeted forecasts
• Oversee the accuracy of sales tax reporting and documentation within the system
• Develop and maintain specialized reports in Excel to bridge gaps between various software outputs
• Ensure all historical financial data is accurately archived and easily retrievable for audit purposes
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all organizational financial data and employee records
Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in financial analysis or a high-level accounting role
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, specifically with complex reconciliations and reporting modules
• Strong operational knowledge of Lightspeed and its integration capabilities with accounting software
• Mastery of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build models, pivot tables, and advanced formulas
• Strong understanding of internal controls and data verification techniques
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical financial data to non-finance stakeholders
