QA Engineer - Shipping Logistics Software

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our team and ensure the quality and reliability of our shipping logistics software platform. This role combines manual testing expertise with test automation development, focusing on validating complex logistics workflows and data accuracy across our web-based application.
Technical Environment

Backend: Blaze PHP legacy stack with MySQL database
Frontend: JavaScript, CSS, HTML web application
Infrastructure: AWS cloud environment
Project Management: Jira ticketing system

Key Responsibilities
Manual Quality Assurance

Review and test Jira tickets to ensure all acceptance criteria are met
Perform comprehensive manual testing of shipping logistics workflows
Validate data accuracy and business logic across the application
Execute regression testing for bug fixes and new feature releases
Document and report defects with clear reproduction steps
Collaborate with development team to clarify requirements and resolve issues

Test Automation Development

Design and implement Selenium-based automated test scripts
Develop automated tests for data validation scenarios, including:

Numerical accuracy verification (shipping costs, weights, dimensions)
Database record validation and row presence checks
End-to-end workflow automation


Maintain and enhance existing test automation framework
Create reusable test components and data-driven test scenarios

Quality Process Improvement

Establish testing standards and best practices for the team
Identify opportunities to transition manual test cases to automation
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies
Participate in sprint planning and estimation activities

Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience in software quality assurance
Strong experience with manual testing methodologies and best practices
Proficiency in Selenium WebDriver for web application automation
Experience with JavaScript for test script development
Familiarity with MySQL database queries for data validation
Experience working with Jira or similar project management tools
Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

Experience testing logistics, shipping, or supply chain software
Knowledge of PHP applications and legacy system testing
Familiarity with AWS cloud services and infrastructure
Experience with test automation frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, etc.)
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration
Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured)
Knowledge of version control systems (Git)
