Python Fullstack Developer

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Azure AI Platform Engineer to manage, operate, and evolve an Azure-based Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solution

This role is responsible for deploying, securing, maintaining, and extending the solution within our Azure environment, ensuring reliable operation across environments (dev/test/prod), proper access control, and cost-effective usage.

The ideal candidate is comfortable owning both infrastructure and application behavior, with a strong understanding of Azure identity, AI Search indexing, OpenAI integrations, and secure enterprise deployments.

Key Responsibilities
GitHub Repository Ownership
Own and maintain the Github repo as delegated
Manage forks, branches, and environment-specific configurations
Review, test, and deploy updates from upstream Microsoft changes when applicable
Implement customizations for client-specific or department-specific deployments

Azure Infrastructure & Deployment

Deploy and manage Azure resources including:
Azure AI Search
Azure OpenAI
Azure Container Apps / App Service
Azure Blob Storage
Azure Key Vault
Use Bicep / ARM / azd for repeatable, environment-safe deployments
Configure and manage multiple environments (dev, staging, production)

Security & Identity Management

Implement authentication and authorization using:
Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
App registrations and service principals
Group-based access control
Enforce document-level and role-based access to indexed content
Ensure users only retrieve content they are authorized to see
Work with Easy Auth / managed identity where applicable

Azure AI Search & RAG Operations

Design and maintain search indexes, skillsets, and indexers
Implement metadata-based filtering (departments, roles, group IDs)
Optimize chunking, embeddings, and retrieval quality
Monitor and tune relevance, latency, and token usage

Operations & Cost Management

Monitor application health, logs, and performance
Track and optimize Azure OpenAI and Search costs
Implement safeguards to prevent runaway usage
Troubleshoot deployment, authentication, and runtime issues

Collaboration & Documentation

Document architecture, deployment steps, and operational runbooks
Support internal teams and client-facing implementations
Provide guidance on extending the platform safely and correctly

Secure secret management with Key Vault

Programming & Frameworks

Python (backend services, filtering logic)
JavaScript / TypeScript (frontend or API integration awareness)
Familiarity with containerized deployments (Docker, Container Apps)
